About Me

1968 had a Saffron Mk3 Spitfire as my first convertible car. (couldn't really call it a 'sports' car)

1969-1972 had a White TR4 which I drove all the way to Barcelona in 1972 to watch the Grand Prix.

1972 bought my current 1969 White CP TR6 Pi. In 1973 drove all the way to Barcelona to watch the F1 Grand Prix, that was before motorways in Europe, makes my arms ache just thinking about both of those journeys! This car was my daily driver for the first few years until number one son out grew his baby seat in the back.

My best performances were 0-60mph 7.5 secs. Best Standing Start Qtr Mile 15.37 @84mph. Best top speed 121.96mph. Best MPG 29.25 on leaded 5 Star. Over the years I have done my best to maintain it in an original condition to relive that Classic 60's period driving experience. Only modifications I've allowed is a 14 inch steering wheel and classic Maserati Air Horns.

Now I'm 69 I'm so glad I kept her as something to tinker with more than drive, she's one of the family now, and all 3 grown up sons have borrowed it from time to time. So I've left it in my Will to my youngest son as he has been a motor mechanic and appreciates classic cars. He used it as his Wedding Car as I had done too back in 1972.

1987-1995 I ran all 3 of my sons in junior Kart Racing, we won 13 British Junior Championships, Anthony beating the likes of Jenson Button in 1993 & 1994 at the top British Championship Junior level.

1995 he was Junior British Champions again.

1996-99 Anthony went professional in International Karting, being Belgian champion and runner up in the Formula A European Champion, racing the likes of Alonso, Raikkonen & Button.

2000 Formula Ford 3rd in British championship, winning the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.

2001 Formula 3, European F3 Champion and 2nd in the British F3 series, and was the 2000 Autosport/BRDC Young Driver of the Year.

2001-2006 Formula One Test Driver for BAR Honda driving a 3rd F1 car in Friday GP practise.

2007-2008 F1 drive in Honda 'B Team' Super Aguri Team where he achieved 3 x 11th place finishes.

2009 progressed to International Sports Cars racing with Pro Drive in a Lola Aston Martin at Le Mans.

2010-2011 Peugoet team drive in their fabulous LMP1 Prototype 908HDI, and won Sebring 12 hours, Silverstone 6 hours, Shanghi 6 hours and 4th place at Le Mans, the highest placed Brit.

2012 late withdrawal of the Peugoet Team, he was lucky to find a place with the new Toyota LeMans team for 2012...but was 'unlucky' to be involved in a spectacular crash when lapping an amatuer GT driver who turned into him causing his 3rd position Toyota-Hybrid LMP1 to loop the loop and crash at 180mph at Mulsanne Corner! (see YouTube clip 'Davidson LeMans Crash')

2013 Toyota 3rd place Silverstone 6 hours, 4th place SPA 6 hours, and an excelent 2nd place at LeMans! 2nd at the 6 hour Race at Austin...but robbed in 6 hour of Shanghi when a suspension bolt broke when they had the race in the bag with a 40 second lead and only an hour to run! But won the final race of the season Bahrain 6 hours.

2014 he won the WEC 6 hour Tourist Trophy at Silverstone & the SPA 6 hour, 3rd at LeMans, 3rd at Austin 6 hour, wins at Fuji 6 hour & Shanghi 6 hours, mechanical problems when leading the Bahrain 6 hours, but had accumulated enough championship points to become the 2014 World Endurance Champion!

We don't talk about the 2016 LeMans 24 hour race, Unbelievable for the engine to go into safety mode in sight of the finish line when they had been leading for the last 7 hours !!!! 2017 wins at SPA, Silverstone, Shanghi and Bahrain but still no luck at LeMans again with mechanical electric motor failure, good recovery drive to 9th overall.
