My TR6 blew a fuse at the weekend. It is the green part of the main loom - indicators, brake lights fuel gauge, etc. The fuse was a 20A rating but the manual says it should be 35A. All four of the fuses in my car are 20A. Presumably this is wrong and I should change them to 35A?
Cheers everyone.

That depends on whether they are Lucas fuses or the more modern type Ken - unfortunately both look much the same. The original fuses are rated for the current they will 'blow' at - in this case 35A but they can carry about 17 A continuously. Usually both numbers are printed on the paper slip inside the fuse.
Modern glass fuses are marked only with the current they will carry continually without blowing. One marked 20A may take 30 amps or more to blow in a short time.
So the answer is if yours are Lucas fuses they were too small since a 20A rated fuse can only carry 10A continuously. But if they are modern fuses they were correctly rated.

Hi Peter,
You mention Fenner PowerTwist Belting as an answer.
Have googled it, nothing else to do now we are shut down here in France, and haven't really come up with anything helpful.
Can you advise on uk supplier and relevant ref number.
Thanks,
Adam

The website is here Adam but I don't know which one Peter had in mind - perhaps C22?

Seems a bit expensive though - $700 + for 10 metres !
