  1. Looks like a CB radio bracket to me.
  2. I should say the 5 and wait for the shrieks of horror, especially as it’s Ford tractor blue ! But wouldn’t be that cruel, "...........I’m ‘refreshing’ a compressor project I picked up, and rather than just get the thing running decided it needed a bit more love than that.
  3. Am i correct in believing that I need to wait 7 days for bonda rust to 'cure' before spraying with a synthetic enamel, I think thats what its saying on the tin but anybody confirm for me please.
  4. I thought the emblem might be related to the submarine service, but they tend to have 2 dolphins, however Google is your best friend and it might be that the emblem has something to do with the Latin phrase Festina lente which basically means make haste slowly.
  5. Rich any use ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/184316351666?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=184316351666&targetid=879842586457&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9045303&poi=&campaignid=9445986154&mkgroupid=95782681917&rlsatarget=aud-381667280803:pla-879842586457&abcId=578896&merchantid=6995734&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4f35BRDBARIsAPePBHyUYe1_uTbZDTfcpkveeceEJA35vTm3n5phIlQb3WXjAM7ePDrm8PgaAhs5EALw_wcB
  6. Damson TR6 16:00Hrs Whitchurch Hight St a forumite by any chance ?
  7. Perhaps an obvious question but why do you say the engine is seizing, I’m guessing because you push the starter and it doesn’t turn over , but is it the starter failing to turn the engine , for a reason other then the engine has seized? ATB Graham
  8. Ian yes I’ve been looking like my original post said I took the list from the LRO site did find this however, wrong pulley obviously but looks like no oil vacuum pump alternators are out their https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hyundai-Getz-Accent-Matrix-1-5-CRDi-Alternator-Vacuum-Pump-2001-2005-Models/323948552302?hash=item4b6cd6a06e:g:PxAAAOSwFFVdpbfB
  9. Ian have a read of this also CBS sell an electric vacuum pump, another option I had considered was fitting a vacuum tank behind the splash panel in the OS wheel arch
  10. Well not quite, but spraying in damp conditions, was going to put the bonnet in its final coat of bonda rust today but the atmosphere is very humid and was just pondering if I should spray today as was concerned I might trap moisture under the paint so can anybody advise if its ok to spare in these damp humid conditions EDIT Answered my own question, recommended relative humidity 40-50% Aylesbury today 94-98% so looks like we won't be doing any spraying today ATB Graham
  11. I found this one a good fit http://www.racetorations.co.uk/triumph-c56/tr4a-c8/tr4a-interior-and-trim-c42/racetorations-tr4a-6-fibreglass-split-gearbox-tunnel-includes-extra-inspection-panels-p1023 just need marbles/ballbearings to mark/centre the fixing holes properly. But knowing what I know now would have kept my old FG one and modified it to fit as suggested above, after all once the carpets are in nobody sees it ! ATB Graham
  12. Ah just been back out to the garage for a re count, so I have the 5 (not 4) across the back, then forward of this on each side I have a broken stud and then on top of the b post I have 2 vacant holes, so should I bother getting the broken studs out ?
  13. Something in the back my mind is telling me that TR5's only have the 4 rearmost fixing studs on the hardtop backlight, the front 2 are only for 4/4a anybody tell me if this is correct, the back window i have has both the front studs snapped off and don't want to struggle to get them out only to find I don't need them anyway
  14. Phil personally I wouldn't drive it until you get to the bottom of the cause, my 6 had an annoying squeak from the rear audible at low speeds, when I took it to Enginuity for them to have a look at, the cause was as per Mick's photo, my hub had cracked 3/4 of the way round the flange, so the wheel was about to part company with the car. When I had the car rebuilt I went for these http://www.vessey-classic-car-services.co.uk/quaife-products.htm#.XzEOLC2ZMwc not cheap and they do come with their own issues but at least I know that all the wheels should stay on the car.
  15. aren't these supplied by Britparts in Shropshire https://www.britpart.com/contact-us

    Oil leak

Dennis be aware that the dome nuts can 'bottom' or should that be 'top' out ie they bind on the end of the rocker cover retaining studs before pulling down fully tight, I would do a good clean up get all the oil off, the go for a short drive and then check again

    Oil leak

Dennis all 6 cylinder engines have the rubber lip seal the scroll seal was a 4 cylinder 'feature' but are you sure its the rear seal and not oil from further up the engine simply finding its way to the lowest point
  18. Peter that’s very kind of you, I’m going to sandblast the compressor unit to clean it up before final assembly but may well take you up on your offer when it’s back together
  19. Right feeler gauge set finally turned up and next challenge was that my drill bits are made of Chinaisium wouldn't touch .2mm of stainless steel so ordered some Cobalt ones and it took longer to unpackaged the drill bits than it did to drill the hole! (note to self stop cheaping out it only costs you time and/or money in the end) Head all back together and on the compressor and when turned over by hand it does now produce a stream of air. Now I need to take the plunge and buy a new motor and unloader valve unit. This is where I find out that there is something fundamentally wrong with t
  20. Shame the like functions been removed but its a YES! from me
  21. Mm MG34 just the tool for those hogging the middle lane
  22. Bob clearly your and engineer! I was thinking I was pushing the boat out cutting up an old Payen gasket set box to make a new gasket rather than my usual cornflakes packet !
  23. I must admit I quite liked the like/dislike feature, only thing I would have changed would have been to show both up and down votes rather than a simple running total against each post, but its gone, not going to stress over it, its a car club web forum after all not something setting out UK domestic policy ......................
