I have just repaired my nearside hinge. Cut off the pin head took the hinge down to a local welder and he put some weld on the elongated hole and re-drilled it. I then used a bolt and nyloc nut with washers and plenty of copperslip grease, perfect. The welder did not even want to charge me.
