  1. Hi Rob cutting a hole in the tunnel is the easiest solution. The bung in the floor is a good size to go for. Roger
  2. Hi Bobbie the search facility is rather crude. The less key words the better. Most searchers go via Google quoiting 'TR Register' then what you are after Good Luck Roger
  3. Hi Stuart, I do not know where I sourced it (possibly after an appeal on here for unwanted spares) I do know where it went. (somebody on here) Roger

Hi Nigel, I have also found this stiffness with various blades and always blamed the harder/stiff rubber - usually in the Winter time. Two possible fixes. When parking Overnight etc turn the ignition OFF when the blades are in the centre of the screen. This should stop them on a flat area. Or use Silicone rubber blades. Roger
  5. Can the TR6 joint be used #71 https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr5-6/steering-suspension/steering/steering-tr5-6-1967-76.html Why do you want to change? Roger
  6. Plain water has the best heat capturing properties. Adding any coolant reduces this ability. 100% coolant has the least ability. It will not boil over but will get quite hot. From a practical point of view you will need to carry a gallon or so in the boot just in case you need a top up en route. Roger

Hi Andy, TEX are good wipers. Why not send TEX an E-mail explaining the situation. Roger
  10. Hi Folks, the OD Logic box that I make requires a 0ve pulse to operate. Any momentary ON switch will work - I use a press button switch - but I thought it would be nice to use the original TR4/4A /5/6 OD switch. Firstly the switch contacts need removing. Remove the roll pin that holds that switch arm in the body and then push the arm out of the body. Remove the cable and contact board (it just pulls off). Remove the Ball, spring & contact from the plastic body. Insert an Aluminium rod into the hole in the plastic body where the ball sat Drill and
  11. quite so . But I thought whilst Roy is looking at one he can look at the other. Roger

  13. Why are OD switches so expensive. (£54 typical) The more complex indicator switch is far cheaper. (£37 typical) Crazy Roger
  14. I feel left out as I did not get a message...............why???..
  15. I do not understand why the counterbore where the lip seal sits is so deep. I remember a few years back this happening to me. I made a packer to stop the seal moving in further. Roger
  16. Hi Phil, it looks like the PO has had a great time inventing. The clutch pipe should be a braided flexible pipe item #23 HERE Was the PO particularly small. Could he have walked through the hole to do maintenance perhaps not. There will be a blind grommet somewhere to fit that. Roger
  17. Hi 488 yes they are. If you look at the side of the hinge where the pin goes in. that is the face nearest the centreline. Plain side goes to the outer faces. Roger

  19. Hi Many of these cleaning fluids are virtually 'White Spirit'. This does not dry 'clean' as such and may stay wet for longer periods. The Wynn's B&C cleaner is a serious solvent and I am sure would eat the seals etc. Roger
  20. The Hooter tooter on my 4A has always worked well. It has a Mountney Wheel with matching hub. When I first fitted it the horn push was a little loose. So, I made a packer for the horn push contact to press harder on the hub. It all worked well. Roll on many years and today I am trying to get it to work. The fault was the packer. After 20 odd years it decided to go iffy. The packer was attached by a small piece of double sided tape on the non-contact side of it. Sp today I made a new packer from some thin copper that is now soldered in place. It all works well an

  22. Hi Folks, there have been comments about naming and shaming suppliers that have bad parts. Sadly I think you would need to vet the complainant before giving the complaint any credence. Roger Roger
  23. Yesterday me and Sue popped over to an ex-quarry lake (Little Britain). We've had a bit of rain lately. The lake had risen about 3 ft and was over flowing into the River Colne. This caused the river to swell and a ford close to where the attach pic was about 5ft higher than normal. The water you can see had come up the road and blocked off a foot path for the Hillingdon way. A couple of walkers got to the puddle and the man was stuck. Unlike his wife he had no wellies. So I came to the rescue in my Amphi-TR - he sat on the rear wing whilst I ferried him all of about 10ft t
  24. I also believe that something as detailed as this sort of research would be beyond the abilities of the MT to understand and action. There would also be a cost element that would seriously go against the grain. Roger
