Sorry Chaps, Those locating pins are actually on the back edge under the Rear Capping (having just refered to the Moss Catalogue).
Pictures of both front fixing and rear locating pins would be good.
Cheers

Well, Yes, I put both the backlight and ali lid in the loft a number of years ago with the intention to use in the not too distant future.....but everything takes longer than anticipated, but now is the time to sort it.
Before I rescued both items they had been outside for quite some time and the steel locating pins on the lead edge of the lid are badly corroded with one pin loose. Any pictures identify what they should look like when in good nick would be appreciated.

Thanks for your guidance Chaps,
It will be out with the paint then and working extreemly diligently,........but not to the point that the hood will be permantly up! It is rare that it goes up anyway, so I do question why the task needs to be done in the first place!
Thanks again.
I have also just pulled.....wait for it an aluminium roof panel out of my loft, the locating pins are shot to bits and loose in the lead edge....Has anybody got any pictures as to how this should be finished?
Cheers

I need to refinish the hood frame but need advice from those with more experience than me. Does it need to be dismantled peice by peice (if it can be dismantled) or can I refinish it in 1 peice? Is it better to get it powder coated or should I paint it? If I paint it will the pivot points need treating so they do not seize up? Easy questions for those that have done the job in the past!
Thanks in advance Chaps.
Cheers Chris

Richard,
where did you get the bonnet badge refinished, just out of interest - mine is looking the worse for wear and would benefit from some attention.

Chaps,
The switch plate houses the Light switch, ignition, wipers, washers & choke. All these switches are held in place by a chrome finishing nut that has 6 small recesses in it. Is there a tool to remove & refit these finishing nuts or do you just tap them round using a screw driver?
Thanks in anticipation.

Babs,
Check out the Manvers-triumph website. There appears to be a lovely red TR4 there....all at a price!

Thanks Dazzer, sounds good. Will try & get down there in the new year to take a look.
Regards,
Monty.
Monty,
Are the Revington seats supplied by Corbeau? Possibly their Classic? May be worth considering if so.

Hi Andrew,
Paddock pass and grandstand seat are included in the ticket price. The extra cost of the grandstand seat was so minimal it seemed silly not to include it.
However, the grandstand seats are offered on an 'availability' basis, one of the reasons why we are encouraging people to book early.
If they run out of grandstand seats we intend to offer a credit/refund. (I should add that to the FAQ).
Philip
Philip,
Will it be possible to order an additional Grandstand seat for those of us that intend taking a child under the age of 16. My 12 year old son has expressed interest in going to Le Mans.
Thanks Chris

Surrey rear light with Ali Lid on ebay currently, item number 220098118094.
I would have put a link in but have no clue on how this is done! Also not connected with sale!

Thanks Ian for the info about the one for sale. The thing is, we have not yet agreed with the slow seller of the TR5 I'm interested in (that has no Surrey top), so I can't really buy the Surrey top before the car "just in case" at that kind of money!
I'm amazed at the prices Surrey tops reach, and I have to say I wouldn't mind buying a remade copy if they existed. Do they not? I would be glad to join in if someone was willing to have a small batch of these remade. (But then again, that's if I buy the surrey-top-less TR5 in question, and not another one wich would have it...)

I have a dilemma with my seats, the vinyl is starting to split and the sponge is obviously now brittle as the dust accumulates on the carpet. I am quite willing to do the work myself, even though I have no experience but if I go down this route I would like a safety net, ie a coach trimmer I could take the work to to get a proper job done. If I do the reupholstering myself where is the best place to get the materials? I have seen the John Skinner website and done my sums.(I was drawn by the leather) It ain't cheap. Am I better off from the start going somewhere and getting a proper job done professionally?
Obviously alot of you have had the same questions. How did you resolve it? If anybody knows of a trimmer who does TRs in the leicestershire/northamptonshire area it would be appreciated info.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.
John thanks for the door card info - they flew off!!

Door handles and winder winders both fit the same way. Push the black plastic escutcheon, that is the black domed circular piece that the handles touch, towards the door, i.e. open a gap between the handle and the esctcheon.
You will see a short pin about an eigth on inch in diameter, and about half an inch long, push this out with any small diameter drift, say an electricians screwdriver, or something similar. push the pin all the way out, pull your drift back and the handle will fly off, its got a large diameter spring inside teh door panel.
As all good manuals say reassembly is a reverse of dismantling.
John.

O.K. so what is the secret to removing the window winding handels and the door opening lever. The more detailed the answer the better, as I am new to taking bits of my TR4 apart! What do you mean you guessed!!

EJ Ward are an excellent company, to be totally trusted - Experts on anything Stag, but I would trust them on any Triumph.
As normal, no connection.
