  1. Have you got an overdrive box? Stuart.
  2. Presumably similar to those film covers that you get on new phones or anything else with a glass screen to protect in transit. I would have thought with any amount of dust in the air the first time it rained and you used the wipers the scratches would negate any advantage there may be in using it. Stuart.
  3. Just be very careful if you concentrate too much on one place as it can cause "Lensing" whereby that area becomes like a magnify glass which distorts your view. Stuart.
  4. The stresses on the neck mostly are due to more basic things like people leaning on the neck when doing simple maintenance under the bonnet Stuart.

Difficult if it still drains behind the wing. Stuart.

Its probably the plenum corner rotted out or the drain tube displaced. Look up under the dash at where the air vent joins the plenum. Stuart.
  7. Having been driven round the full Nuremberg ring by a BMW test driver in at that time a factory one off twin turbo 635 at full chat clocking over 300kph through the speed trap I can safely say it was good to be able to say Ive had that experience but F*ck me it was a bit white knuckle. Stuart.
  8. It can depend on how the body is fitted (Amount of shims) as to whether it will touch or not , my overflow pipe just rubs on the front cross re-enforcer on my car because its a water pipe to the header tank unlike a thin overflow pipe, not enough to worry about but theres a definite rub mark. Stuart.
  9. To maintain the classic look Stuart
  10. Back in the Seventies I had a MK4 Zodiac that had come out of a car auction, It had obviously been stolen/recovered as it didnt have an ignition key or even the switch instead it had an on/off switch on the dash and a push button starter, I used to leave that all over the place unlocked and no one ever bothered to steal it, moral is drive something no one wants then its never going to get stolen. Stuart.
  11. Well summed up by Mick, with all the traction control etc left on then you do have to be really silly to lose the lesser models of Porsche. Back in the Seventies one of my friends had a Lotus Elan and that definitely did handle like it was on rails, however like he said if it ever did break away it was way to late to do anything about it. Stuart.
  12. You could talk to all the usual suspects (TR Shop/TR Bitz/TR trader/Revingtons/TR Enterprises) to see if they have a good original one, maybe as expensive as a new one but if thats what you want then probably the best solution. Stuart.
  13. Not one of yours but I wouldnt be without mine. Stuart.
  14. Doubt it as its from Australia. Ive had that picture on file from long before that. Stuart.
  15. No its not its from Australia Stuart.
  16. What you want is this. Stuart.
  17. Yes whatever you do dont take your foot off in a corner with a Porsche as they will just swap ends and throw you into the scenery. Stuart.
  18. Tried it and its close but no cigar Im afraid Richard Crewe Read had a grille done and other parts and it looked OK but obviously not the same shine. Stuart.
  19. Only problem with polishing is you go through the anodising so to maintain the look you do need to keep polishing though a thin coat of a good all weather lacquer might work. Stuart.
  20. Did you Bondarust first? if not then I wouldnt leave it too long in that etch with the amount of damp round these days. Stuart.
  21. Yes as Mick stated I have Dellortos fitted to mine, now running 89mm so I did have to alter the original settings from when it was on 87mm and up to 34 chokes as well, properly set up it will just tootle around at very low RPM in quite high gears but as some of our local group will attest it leaves most standing and will keep with a tripe Webber TR5 up to over the ton. Gets a bit light on the front at 115 It does take a lot of setting up to achieve what you want and unless you are going to actually use the performance then SU`s do a great job anyway. FWIW if anyone is interested I d
  22. Talk nicely to a registered restorer and see what they can do for you, Im sure a handful of folding would smooth the way Stuart.
  23. Thats twaddle you can buy cellulose still full stop, the only reason for not painting a 2020 Audi in it would be that the formula for a match is non existent, however someone like Ken and Lyn paints with a sample panel could tint you the colour from a similar base. For example my version of Triumph Royal Blue that Ive painted quite a few cars over the years in was updated by Ken a couple of years ago to start from a 2018 Aston Martin colour but that still matches with the original colour I started with more than 30 yrs ago. Stuart.
  24. The gap referred to at the front is only for Surrey equipped cars, I think the OP is referring to a convertible capping. Stuart.
  25. What vehicle is it on as if its TR4 on is the column clamp inside the engine bay loose or missing? Items 58/59/60 here https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr2-4a/steering-suspension/steering/steering-tr4-4a-1961-67.html Stuart.
