  1. Eeew not nice, so how are you fitting the trims then? Stuart.
  2. Is it a complete box/o/drive combo or just the overdrive unit? Working but unknown otherwise? Are you selling it or buying it? Stuart.
  3. Roy you might want to look at the weld where the rack bracket joins the flat top of the inner wishbone box, looks cracked to me. Stuart.
  4. You should fit the wings using non setting screen sealant, loose bolt the wing up and then add the strip pulling it down into place as you tighten the wing, this usually results in some sealant coming up under the strip anyway, once all bolted in place and strips pulled down tight and the tabs bent over then wipe of the excess sealant that has bled out with some spirit wipe job done. The strips are stainless so no need to worry about them. You could give the tabs a little zinc spray before fitting if you want too. Stuart.
  5. Yes they are the outer two on the front of the soft section, depending on how much material there is on the capping ends you may just get them on the very end, it helps to hold it in tight. There is a corresponding pair on the rear outer ends of the soft section on the rear frame too. Stuart.
  6. Standard oil level on a TR is half way, fill it up to top mark it`ll use it down to half way anyway, theyve always done it. Fill to half way and you`ll normally not need to add any.. Stuart.
  7. They arent that rare, Ive had a few over the years and passed them on as they are a bit flimsy though as Pete says the bolt through fasteners do hold it together better, what is rare is ally stanchions to go with an ally frame. Stuart.
  8. Looks like the right one to me, bit difficult to tell from the pictures, the repros dont have the correct "Ears" on the ends thats all, where did it come from? Stuart.
  9. As long as the pipe is Ethanol proof Stuart.
  10. Supply and demand I expect, O/D switches very rarely go wrong so a small run of repros would be dearer than a thousand indicator switches which fail for a pasttime Stuart.
  11. Yes thats the one, couldnt remember his second name. That must be a beast now with the EFI as well. Stuart.
  12. Not if your careful and dont bend them up too much. When you put them back together its easy enough to re-crimp Stuart.
  13. Possibly because it had been "reclaimed" by someone who had gouged the life out of it trying to get the original seal out, Ive come across seal housings with lots of deep indents due to this, Ive replaced with new housings to cure it. Stuart.
  14. Or an even cheaper one Battery monitor Stuart.
  15. TR Shop every time, They dont fit but if there is a good trimmer in your area they should be able to fit it without being too expensive if you dont feel up to fitting it yourself Stuart.
  16. So just over £26500. About right for the condition. Stuart.
  17. Yes they are to allow for the slight slope of the rear deck, if you hold them up and look along the underside youll see the difference Stuart.
  18. Thats a standard TR5/6 type capping for a convertible car. Stuart.
  19. See if Craig has a good s/hand Surrey capping Pete thats what I got for my 250 and its a lot better fit for the front of the Surrey. Stuart.
  20. Several different types depending on model and whether its a soft top or Surrey equipped car. Stuart.
  21. Odd as Ive not had that problem fitting new switches in existing holes. Mind Im a bit loathe to use new ones as theyre not particularly good quality Stuart.
  22. A very nice Manifold, running in a 2.5 saloon in your country somewhere. Leastways it was when that picture was taken many years ago. Stuart.
  23. Its not rocket science to see that what was either a failure or an advise on one year was not noted or passed on another and then re-appeared on the next year and with the very limited mileage between some really bad fails have suddenly appeared too, plus the test station numbers are all over the place, if you use the same one year after year there is some sequence to the numbers, I would say its been to everyone in the local area for the last ten years or so. Stuart.
  24. If that is a bronze carrier then I do like them, just check with a file for hardness as there are brass ones around that dont last five minutes. Stuart.
