  1. Also make sure the four side rubbers in the rain channels are actually doing their job and the two rear rubber supports are correctly adjusted that way the bonnet is held nicely in place as that lessens vibration too. Stuart.

  3. Running a Reliant Robin then Hamish? Stuart.
  4. Either will work well, the newer will probably outlast the original but you do need to alter the access panel to allow for the extra bulk of them. Stuart.

  6. Tex arms with the screw fitting dont come loose your right Peter, Most problems with wiper arms coming off is cheap repros. TR2 ones were "Interesting" to say the least! Stuart.
  7. Having seen many versions of underbonnet coatings/sound deadening over the years they all end up looking rubbish after a few years as its a pretty harsh environment under there and its always subject to dust/grime/mud ingress unless the cars get minimal use, In short if you want a smart underbonnet then paint only is the best idea. With the bonnet stiffeners fitted and the stays supported by felt type material as per original then the panel doesn't drum. Stuart.

  10. Those bolts are always a pain to get out even on relatively un-corroded chassis, Cut that bolt out of the bracket and then use the bracket to replicate the positioning of the lower tube and replate the area with 2mm steel, you`ll need to find some steel tube of the right wall thickness too. replace the bolts and fit a new bump rubber. Stuart.
  11. Its a Rubery Owen series number, there arent any records for them so its not anything to worry about. Stuart.
  12. If youve tried using a phone or Ipad emoji thats the problem as forum software only allows the emojis in the top line on each post page. You would be better off copying and pasting what youve written into another post without the emoji and delete original. Stuart.
  13. You will struggle to find those grommets Im afraid, the kit of grommets as supplied by all the usual suspects doesnt cover it either, the closest still float around Im afraid. Your better off looking at Electrical suppliers for grommets of that size, I bought a bag full for not a lot years ago and just use them up as I go. Stuart.
  14. Main dealers often had things like that hanging around for years after, The dealers in Truro eventually flogged off the last batch they had in stock for about £50 each. Stuart.
  15. I wouldnt, its not original and never looks nice, now youve got rid of all that filler it`ll be a lot easier to lift the bonnet Stuart.
