Definitely not a numpty Neil, we have all been stuck at some point not being to see the wood for the trees. That's the great thing about this forum, loads of members willing to help out other enthusiasts enjoy their hobby. My 3a has been back on the road 10 years now, without this forum it would be still in bits !
cheers
Alan
I had one stick open on first run round the block this spring, I now know that there is an overflow/air hole in the top of HS6 carbs and petrol comes out at quite a rate when the needle is stuck open. Replaced with Delrin tipped needles on both carbs.
Cheers
Alan
Normally Amazon take care of it he importation documentation and TVA when you buy through them, that has been my experience so no extra charges for customs, as you say buying from some Uk suppliers is a pain with the extravagant postage charges and extra customs clearance fees
Would be a different story if he landed on the road or a concrete kerb instead of water. Seatbelts in our cars have limited protection in any major incident because the cars were not built with any accident protection, but they will protect you and your family from potential serious injury in a minor bump. It is the same reason I have removed the passenger grab handle on my car.
Not an age thing, when I worked in IT the users told the computer what to do, these days it’s the computer giving the orders. I remember in the 90’s going to a presentation by oracle on the future of the web.
One of the things they got really excited about was the fact that the end user would end up doing all the administration by completing web based forms which meant that companies could reduce administrative staffing levels and increase their bottom line
looks like they were right but service levels have plummeted and anything out of the ordinary is impossible to process!
I have used Burlen for years but their new website (ok I haven't visited for a couple of years) seems to lack the functionality of the old site and even when you punch in valid numbers from their parts book that I bought years ago the site can't find the reference. The only way I found the bits I needed today was by madly clicking on car type then exploded diagrams and then finally found the part I needed.
The site looks good though
hopefully the Factory fitment guide will upload below, while you will be using different brackets it gives you an idea of their mounting points. I used the document as a guide for fitting retractable belts in my 3a. I originally downloaded the document from the forum

Hi Mike
The "town fathers" have always enthusistically supported the event with both the city and the county (department) providing heavy support both financially and logistically as they reealise what an important event this is to make the Charente a place to visit. The reason fro the doubt this year is that the event lost its traditional main sponsor but that has now all been sorted out
as an aside I have been told by my wife that if we miss the event this year (I havn't been the last couple of years because of othere events) she will be very upset as she loves wandering round the to
