Married to the long-suffering Mrs C, we have 5 sons scattered around the UK and Europe. Live in the occasionally lovely bit of the UK known as South Yorkshire.

Spent 32 years in the UK water industry. Decided to quit full time work last year after the best part of 2 decades managing operational control rooms on 12 hour shifts. Both Mrs C and myself are now 'persons of leisure' !

Over the years I've owned many old bangers and cheap run-arounds; if only I'd kept some of them - the Mk1 Capri GLS, the Mk1 Escort 1300 GT, the Mk2 Capri 1.6L, the Cavalier Coupe (poor man's Opel Manta), the rally-prepped Toyota Corolla - yes really!, the list goes on... I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Love my TR4, and now have plenty of time to drive/fix it. Born in a factory in Coventry in 1965, the car is almost exactly the same age as me, give or take a few months - but in far better condition I suspect .
