  1. I have one of these rocker box covers, acquired last year from Stuart. Like any self respecting Sidescreen man, I tried to fit it with the filler at the front. No way!

So much to my disappointment it sits t’other way round like yours.

  2. Hum, not sure about that Ian. Just did this job a couple of weeks ago and I think I would have struggled a bit to insert the front panel if the beading was fixed to the wings.

However I do agree that it is an excellent plan to protect everything with masking tape.

Lifting and then putting back the front panel should be considered a two man job in order to avoid those scratches of the paintwork

  3. Hum, I think that the postage is fairly standard from France to any country in the EU. I suspect that the heavy postage and packing fees practised, particularly on small orders and rather abusively in my view, by Moss Europe,  drives some of their customers away towards Datch, Betaset and others.

I must confess to not being very good at looking at these supplementary profit centres until it’s too late!

  4. Ah yes Town and Country . My Dad was a GP in South West Scotland and the fitting of these awful tyres was a yearly ritual in October. But they must have done the job as he never came off the road in his various Morris Minors and Austin A35s

  5. If a 4/4A chassis is much the same around the gearbox/overdrive area as a sidescreen car, then I don’t think you have enough access to do the job properly, so it’s off with the gearbox cover, I fear.

The good news is that maybe I’m wrong and stand to be corrected.

  6. Maybe not raining but if it’s Portland, Oregon it should be. She looks dressed for summer, well spring at least.

Can I see oil stains on the left where TRs have been parked up?

  7. Chris, I have one here in France. It was a gift twenty something years ago but I never fitted it as just looking at it scares me s**tless in the case of an accident. Like the chromed bar in front of the passenger.

Yours for the cost of the postage - if I can find it. PM me

  8. Thanks for pointing us to the U tube stream. I spent a good and even entertaining hour and a half watching the ‘event’ as you call it - indeed it was an event compete with its own eccentricities. Nothing poe faced!

I too learned a lot of his life and times - I never knew he was a graduate of Cambridge University - King’s College what’s more. I would imagine his time there would have marked a few of his contemporaries for life!

  9. Or do what I did, I got seriously pithed off cleaning 60 spoke wire wheels and went for pseudo- minilites with 165 x 15 Vredesteins.
The spare is a standard steel rim with 155x15 and something Chinese which slides beautifully into the spare wheel tray. The normal rim nuts are taped together in the wheel, ready to replace the minilite tube nuts.

  10. Waze for me. I took a bit of time to be converted but I find it very good.

It’s interactive in so much that all the info is contributed by users in real time thus the info is fairly exact and up to date. Some of the contributions by the local herberts can be a bit wearing. I never use it with sound - and never make any contributions myself which is probably a bit asocial.

  11. The description of the size of the beast is a little confusing. There is a world of difference between a Willow Tit and a Greater Spotted Woodpecker, which is part of the crow family. They often come to birdtables - and frighten everybody else off.

How about a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, size of a sparrow, fairly common but I have never seen one at a feeder or bird table.

  12. In spite of using what I believe to be the right (ethylene glycol) anti-freeze / coolant, I am amazed by the quantity of chemically generated crud that accumulates in the thermostat housing -  I like to think I take it apart every year just to clean it out and raise my comfort level.

As Stuart suggests it maybe this which stopped the thermostat from opening.
