I've been using Grose jets on my HS6 float chambers for well over 40 years. They solved a permanent smell of leaking fuel at the time.
Curiously, given the above remarks, I have only praise for them!!Maybe the quality of manufacture has changed for the worse.

If I translate directly it’s an impulse switch, the gubbins says it comes back to its initial position. At least I hope that is what it does!

I quite like this idea although it looks a tad fragile. The overall length is 13cm so The stalk is probably about 11cm - enough to be within reach of a finger with a hand on the steering wheel

I had fun for three years with a 2015 200SLK. Why the K, I don’t know as by that time they had lost the Kompressor.
One of the more electronically unreliable cars I have owned. It left us at 1200m in deepest Slovenia with an engine management board that decided to go into ‘stolen’ mode and refused to start.
Later I had problems with the wheel captors failing which turned most things off.
Fortunately all taken care of with an excellent warranty which I had the prudence to negotiate at purchase from the MB dealer.
It had less room in the cockpit than my TR3 and when the roof was folded up into the boot, you could just about get a briefcase in there!
BUT, it was watertight, comfortable and had a/c!!

Unless I’ve missed something the question of disengaging the OD without changing gear has not been raised.
A simple touch on the momentary switch?
Very useful around here on the local roads where I very often move between 3rd and 3rd OD and back to 3rd

Agree with the above observations
I see a classic stripping of assets on the horizon. The baying of retirement funds for high return dividends will be heard until only a shell is left.

My experience allows me to disagree - if you turn the adapter plate through 180°!
The nut and bolt become as accessible as on the original starter.
How is it that you can’t get a spanner on both ends ?james

I don’t understand why folks prefer to butcher their gearbox covers rather than use a simple mechanical solution of turning the adapter plate through 180°

If you do go for a new high torque starter motor, turn the adapter plate through 180°. The fixed stud, which most of the manufacturers insist on fitting, will then be at the bottom and life will become easier.
I have never understood why they put it at the top where it is virtually impossible to fit, let alone turn the nut. I must suppose that none of the suppliers have ever tried to fit one of these excellent mods to a sidescreen car

This (expensive?) stuff gets pushed at us every now and then. I don’t understand enough about it to call it snake oil, but ……..
What’s wrong with a glycol based coolant changed every 2 years or so (as suggested above). It has done me well for well over 50 years

I think it is a rather rare 3A frame. They have a specific tenax fastner. I had one on my 3A fifty years ago but swapped it for a chrome one for an unremembered reason.
I believe the tenax fastener is no longer available

If I remember rightly it's an ´interference fit' but with something (string, tape etc) wrapped around it to make it leak proof. Usually not very tight. There is no pressure behind it of course.
It may have been glued in by a PO.
T'any rate, try a bit of wiggling back and forth to break the seal.
It can be a tight fit with the engine in situ.

I have the same arrangement on my 3A but with the reel fitted higher on the inner wing as I have the rear seat plus the 30cm (or so) stalk fitted to the transmission tunnel.
As recommended by Mr Wigglesworth. Excellent solution!james

Tim, if you have the room, go for the biggest one you can afford!
I have a much smaller one, 25litres, which is just adequate for my limited skills - but I do regret not going for the next size up
