The guys working at the tip all gathered round, they'd never seen such an unusual car being used to transport junk to the tip!

  7. Heads up that for previous visitors, and if you register on the website, tickets are now available for these events. They go on open sale on Thursday. John, both events, they have very different flavours and are in different locations (FoS at the house, Revival at the airfield). Views of cars moving fast are better at the Revival and I think the atmosphere is much better too (esp for someone like me with OF Syndrome). * OF = Old Fart
  8. Don't think of even trying to book the Travelodge, Chichester. Normally their full rate is £55, often discounted. I didn't expect a discount when their rooms came available for booking today (325 day window opened on Travelodge website). No rooms showing as available. Emailed them as I wanted a group booking of 10 rooms. Their rate ... £195 per room per night!! That is disgraceful profiteering. I wouldn't expect a discount from rack rate during an event but to charge £200 a night for a Travelodge room is just corporate greed. I've taken my money 25 miles down the road where for almost half
  9. Goodwood have just announced dates for the 2014 Festival of Speed (Jun 26-29) and Revival (Sept 12-14) subject to confirmation. Tickets go on sale from the Goodwood website from 9am Thurs 31st October.

  11. Couldn't get any accomodation in the Cotswolds at short notice, so up at 6 this morning, 100 miles to the start point, an excellent 120 mile drive around the Cotswolds taking in many of it's popular and plenty of unknown sights. Originally planned to start and finish at Prescott Hill Climb but change of plan and started in a pub with a full English and ended in a different pub with a pint of "Prescott Hill Climb" before 100 miles home again. The car didn't miss a beat (except the heater packed up on the way home, valve still moves, no hot water into matrix). Thanks for Phil and his team fo
  12. I quite enjoy these runs around the countryside and as the weather is looking good for the weekend, I called Cleeve Motorsport Club to see if they had any last minute places on their run this Sunday. They were happy to have another TR join them, so if anyone else is interested, give them a call. The event was planned to start/finish at Prescott Hill but it's been moved to a nearby pub, full details on their website. No connection to them, but thought others might be interested in an organised day out this Sunday. http://www.cleeve-motorsport-club.co.uk/Events.html
