Thanks Stuart, I guessed you’d have experience of this

So I wonder was there a complete engine and gearbox under that bonnet? And what caused the car to be laid up for so long…
How could a frozen bonnet release mechanism be freed after 25 years of inactivity on a TR5? A genuine question..

It’s been up for sale at MP before Christmas and failed to sell.

This TR3 is another option, just requires a good polish

I remember Stuart telling us previously that there are at least 4 different bonnets for sidescreen cars.

Thanks for your replies guys, interesting reading..
It sounds like you could have viewed this very TR6, I assume somebody had done ‘a repair on it’ but not a proper rebuild
The TR2 was an ‘insurance write off’, but the existing owner bought it back and then repaired it over several years. He loved the car and kept it from 1962 to 1978.
The TR6 buried his drivers door into the rear passenger wing of the TR2 on the roundabout.

I believe Stuart shared this photo of the bracket you require some time ago. Remnants of the chassis end of my bracket and a poor photo of apron bracket position.
