That 2nd choice of a TVR Chimaera sounds a better idea already !
Neil
No No No Neil, are you a hairdresser ? Chims, like the Audi TT have that image, you would have to drive round with a bag over your head or let the wife drive everywhere
-
I love TVRs, I have owned a few, but you cant compare TVRs and TRs, different cars from different ages.
-
I would think fitting the V12 lump into the engine bay (as picture) would not be a major problem, fitting all the ancillaries ....... may take a little longer.

Mike I got new runners as my old ones had seen better days, they are the same as the old ones. you need to remove the small plate at the rear of the runner which your old seats hooked onto, drill out the captive nut and bolt through this hole into your new seats.
-
I have just fitted new moss seats and the rear of the seat bolts direct to the runner, these seats won't tilt forward as the originals did. You have to bolt the seats front and rear to the runner and then bolt into the car.

They have covered the number plate so nobody will recognise it !

Ok so I've found what looks like a mower, got it started, now tomorrow just need to find the lawn and the wife and put the three of them together, simples
-
Nick, you need to seal it down otherwise you'll get wet when it rains! I used an automotive type black sealer, probably the incorrect stuff but it works.
Good luck

This weekend, I am informed, I will mostly be finding the lawn mower and coaxing it into life !
-
This weekend I will mostly be trying to find that original gear knob that I now I have somewhere !!
-
Looks the same as an early mini gear knob, try ebay, lots on there

Fitted new seats, new overdrive switch, and replaced the column bushes oh and fitted new steering wheel. other than that ... not much
-
I used Aldidge for all my TVR bespoke stuff along with recent work on my TR including hood, door trim, wool carpet and boot trim. An old fashioned company which I like a lot. They always have some very exotic, expensive cars in their workshop. I have no reason to go anywhere else.

Nearly ready for spring

Lots done over the last few months so maybe I can just sit and admire it for a while
-
Darren,
You brought the problem on yourself by making an elementary mistake in the domestic politics game - you acknowledged they were there!
Cheers
Andrew
Is that the wife, the rolls of paper or the spare room? .... anywaysup I am now the proud owner of a handful of brownie points which I shall us some other weekend in the near future
-
Well I WAS looking forward to a weekend of tinkering in the garage..... but I got home last night to find a number of rolls of wallpaper on the kitchen table so it looks like I am stuck in the spare room up to my elbows in paste...........
-
You need to tidy that garage and get a proper tool chest
-
Fitted new wire wheels, cost a fortune but look.... Well, stunning. Very pleased. My very nice steel wheels tyres centres and nuts are on flea bay if anyone is interested
-
Amazing what you can find in search even pre 2011

I have a small amount of play in the top of the column. The steering wheel will move up/down/left/right by just a few mil. Is there some kind of bush at the top of the column? I have checked on various exploded diagrams but cant just see one, I can find the bush at the base of the column. or is it something that needs adjusting? Any help advise gratefully received

. We have to accept that some people venturing into performance modification for the first time (this may be the position with Daz ?)
Mick Richards
Thanks Mike, not my first venture into performance. My Griff was 340 horse my 450SE was about 320 and my 1959 Ford Prefect about 18. My post was in search of information, knowledge is everything and I appreciate any input on any related subject. From this thread I have learned that, some roll bars are ****, I am to remove my servo, wrap my head and the dog up in pipe insulation and resist beans at all costs....
Thanks to everyone who has posted

I was thinking I might be inclined to duck...... just a little.
Fitting Moss Replacement seats
in TR6 Forum

I have the fitting instructions somewhere I will see if I can find them. I did make a bracket which allows the seat to slide back fully to touch the wheelarch which gave me an extra 25mm of leg room. they took a while to get right but I am pleased with the result ( I am 6 foot)
