  7. Robin, Hamish, are these parts readily available, is it possible to DIY or better to leave it to experts? I suppose using a gearbox specialist would find any other issues at the same time I know its "how long is a piece of string" question but what would the going rate be for a specialist overhaul? kc
  8. No problem with selecting 1st or reverse kc
  9. I have an issue with 2nd gear, changing from 1st to 2nd produces a lovely grating sound every time, it is no better when the car is hot, gearbox oil was changed about 3 months ago when I fitted a new Laycock clutch. It was also grating before the new clutch and the old clutch still had lots of life in it, it was just really heavy to use. However changing down from 3rd to 2nd never seems to produce the grating noises. I assume it maybe a synchro issue unless someone has any better ideas. I have heard that replacement rings are hard to come by, It is a CR model with Overdrive. Any sug

  16. Curious question, please do not shoot me I am certain I read a couple of years ago that the by-product of hydrogen fuel cells is water, however it then went on to say that the water produced is "dead" water and is no good for anything, it will then over the years ingress into the existing waterways and slowly kill everything off Does anybody know if there is any truth in that??? kc

    Really?

It does not make any sense in the wording???????? "Internationally recognised" what does that mean?? "restored by us"" and then further down it says "car shipped back from Mauritius and then serviced by us"??? not that it bothers me, won't be buying it anyway even with a 50% red tag on it!! kc

  23. Hi, I think you will have your work cut out, when I had mine (1973 PI CR model) tested last year, it also failed miserably on emissions. Elclem fiddled with the timing at his workshop and when we got to the CT station it still failed, luckily our tester was very co-operative and after an hour of fiddle fiddle fiddle, the emissions computer went GREEN and we quickly saved the data, at least when your car finally passes you do not have to worry about it for another 5 years IF MY CAR HAD BEEN 6 MONTHS OLDER IT WOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED AN EMISSIONS TEST The other big problem with a Fr
