  3. Hi Richard, as you say - progress - well done. Now you don't want to put it all back without having solved your issues. re the overdrive relay, my experience with a pattern part original was that it lasted about 6 weeks, so I then bought a modern, black cube, 30amp, it sits well out of site on the TR4 anyway, couple or quid or so, its into its second decade. We can help with fitting and how the numbers correspond to the original relay markings. That would be my starting point on the overdrive issue, and remember 80% of O/D problems are electrical! Now as regards the G/B Ra

  5. Hi Keith, welcome to our forum, your car i srunning rish sir. John.
  6. Would be my thoughts also. point is Richard that’s a simple enough check/repair with only needing to remove the transmission tunnel. Could you do that? And if not is there someone in your local group would lend a hand. John
  7. Hi Richard, what exactly is your gearbox doing? I'd have a think through on this, before you go whipping your gearbox out and shipping it off for whats likely to be £2k ish worth of work. The only thing common to all the gears is the gearlever. When you say all gears does this include reverse, and is it the same with the engine off? John.
  8. +1 and be careful useing that tapered bit in the very thin, relatively, metal of your door. John.

  11. Yes especially as you plan to use spacers. My choice would be as Triumphs was 165 x 15 on 4.5 inch rims. Incidently think I have some spacers from back in the days I ran wires, John
  12. Flogging this aren't you?
  13. Thanks Stuart putting the tub back on a new, to this car, replacement chassis so it’s all to be worked out from scratch John
  14. That’s a colossal amount of grease to end up there. If the car is a solid axle then not too onerous to pull the driveshaft and change both the oil seal and if needed bearing.just undo lock tabs and six bolts on the back keep all the shims in the same order my money would be on over enthusiastic greasing of the nipple on the end of the axle what’s the other side like? John
  15. I've seen this here before, but have tried and cant now find it. Anyone rattle off the body tub back onto the chassis sequence? I'm thinking must start with the four square body mounts to outriggers? John.
  16. Hi Emrys, I have altered the title of your thread to, hopefully find you better targeted replies, and to help other posters in the future. I do hope this is OK with yourself? Regards John.
  17. You going to do it again, Tim? John.
  18. Just so Rob, and if your insurance company don't know about them, you ain't covered! John.
  19. Just wondering, do the addition of solar panels And allied batteries in the loft increase house buildings and contents insurance by much? John
  20. Pretty much agree with all the negative comments here, and I think that in years to come, we,ll come to see that parts availability for our cars, some quality issues aside, was pretty good. John
