Hi guys.
I have electronic ignition with vacum disconnected, PI cam, triple webbers on my TR6.
I have a strobe light.
Would i be in the correct ballpark of 11° static and 33° total at 4500rpm
Thanks guys. No need to be exact, but would this be a sensible starting point.
-
Well I've set static at 12°. It was at about 18.
Still getting bad rev hang. Ill need to go through the linkage from start to finish. It may be just the cable needing oiled. Start with the basics I guess.

I know basic trigonometry.
Luckily wheel alignments based on geometry then. I'm-:))) I'm teasing by the way.

Thanks guys. I bought new 5mm metric countersunk screws. Drilled and taped. All now perfect.

As I said, I know how to do the job guys, I only needed the measurements

Hi guys. Thanks for the input. I have used the strung line before. It doesn't mater if the front or back is wider. The one thing that has to be determined is the rear wheel is running straight with no toe. As you all know, there are shims for correcting this. I can use basic geometry to check this prior to aligning the front. I will go for 3mm toe in. 1.5 on each wheel. Just have to get the front wheels on a very slippery surface. I have the car on ceramic tiles and engine oil. That lets the tire move nice and freely while adjusting. Thanks for giving me the toe in measurement. Appreciated.

Oh one thing. Is that 3mm on each wheel or 3mm overall. Meaning 1.5mm per wheel

thanks but i cant afford new parts. My dash has so far cost me 10 pounds. I am looking for a used item that's someone doesn't need and willing to sell for a good price. One cant help but hope eh.

Good day guys.
I am currently redoing my dash. I am installing a clock where the dimmer dial was. But i need a chrome 52mm clock. I honestly cant afford whats on fleebay or the likes and wondered if anyone has one in fair order in the shed they would consider selling.
Also the chrome gauge ring on my rev counter is totally shot. If someone has a chrome rev counter or just a decent chrome ring, i would be very grateful on a good deal.

So basically LED are a good upgrade. But they don't work with the dimmer switch. Don't worry u have the same issue in my living room. Anyway I am doing away with it and fitting a clock so will simply bypass the switch. Hell, I can't remember the last time I actually drove the car in the dark. Well it looks like I am going green. Isn't that the future :-)
thanks for everyones assistance.

Hi Murray ?
Would the items need to be posted to you in Croatia ?
Yes. I will sort the shipping. I use a company called eurosender. Are you in the uk

OK. So its the dimmer switch. That was so much easier to say and understand is it not for anyone. And how does owning a 68 morris minor mean anything. There no dimmer swith in it. I really don't know why i started this post now

Sorry. This is lost in me. OK ill Google it then. Thanks for the help. My cars all work perfectly. I only get to know the parts that don't work.

Hi all. I have my dash out and am going to give the gauges a wee clean up. I was looking at he old bulbs and wandering about upgrading them to LED. Has anyone done this, did it work out and where did you buy them.
Thanks in advance.

MAny thanks. Typical imperial. I can only get metric here. No mater, I've a tap and die set. Guess I will get busy with that then.

Hi - if no-one else comes back to you, I can take a look tomorrow as I'll be working on the TR. They are #6 or #8 self-tapping screws with cup washer.
Cheers
Steve
Thanks. Believe it or not I removed my dash and it had not a single screw in it

Hi guys. Can someone tell me the thread size for the tr6 dash board screws.
Thanks.
Static & total timing numbers

Typo
OK its now running OK. Timing sorted. As for rev hang. It was the linkage. There are 3 main springs. I was only using 2. At the pedal, and at the swivel bracket under the carb. I have now taken of the one below the carbs and attached the one from the top of the linkage to the rocker cover. That sorted it. Easy pedal and nice rev drop. I will now get it on the rolling road and depress myself by finding out my 150hp engine only produces 130 ha ha ha. Sure as hell it will be that way.
