Hi guys as said I have found some steel wheels, the reason I wanted them is I have at the moment a set of origonal minilites on the car that I need to refurb, I believe painting is the way forward.

  5. Hi all,

Has anybody out there got 5 x TR6 Steel Wheels knocking about that they no longer need ?

I do not mind the condition as long as they are servicable

  6. Hi Simon,

They bake everything first to loosen the old paint, underseal etc, then it is dipped for rust removal, then it is dipped again in an inhibitor, then it is 2 pak etch primed.

    Regards

  7. Looks good Graham - the guy who picked my bits up was very helpful, he even took some pics of the shell being put into the trailor and apparently they photo the whole process for your records Brill :):)

  10. Hi All,

Firstly a very happy and prosperous New Year to all at TRR.

I am refurbing my wind screen frame and wanted to pose the following question:

is it best to replace the old vinyl / plastic inner trim with like for like or would it be best to use a crinckle finish paint ?

I also notice in the parts catologue the mention plastic trim finisher for the outside !!! my frame didn't have this so should it be there ? the car is 1974 PI REG: NBW 576P.

    Many thanks

  11. Tom,

One does realise this it will probably take me another 2 monthes at least to prepare before the finishing coat ;) not the first time I have stripped a car for painting  and probably won't be the last, I find it very theraputic in a strange way  just be glad when I can enjoy driving it again.

  12. I have spent the last 12 monthes preparing the tub and panels to a pristen condition !! and it is all now ready for to have all the old paint and any surface rust removed, hence why INVIRO-STRIP are carrying this out ( I have removed all the old under seal and sound deadening ).

INVIRO-STRIP are also going to 2pk etch prime.

I will seam seal and afix the new sound deadening and a local paint shop will carry out any contour fettling that need doing (probably only on the rear scuttle to match the boot lid).

So what are you on about Tom !!!!!!

Nigel is my name not PO :)
