Do not joke about DVLA or we may end up with Q plates on ALL imported tr cars going forward
-
i agree with stuart , no different to the rebuild of many more TR"S , ,including some very historic and important ones , and they would not look right on a Q plate.

That car is known as the Ginerva and was a genuine tr5 prototype, it has a tr5 chassis and a 6 cyclinder 2 litre injection engine with O/D it is a loverly looking car , I was very lucky to be able to drive the car when those pictures where taken at La Morra in Italy back in 2015 , the car is owned by a very nice Swiss guy by the name of Werner , the car although only 2 litre performs well albeit it wallowed a bit on the mountain roads ,

I agree we may be opening a can of worms that could have enormous ramifications for all TR owners , as the DVLA are unlikely to distinguish between differing models with regards to VHI !!!

its pretty simple really all TR250 had a CD commision/vin number a CC engine number and a CC body number , a TR5 be it right hand or left hand drive had all CP numbers vin/engine/ body , and i can assure you all that although you may be able to get the DVLA to list the model as a TR5 they will not issue you with CP numbers .

ps i probably submit more applications for V5s both recovery and imported than most ,

perhaps you would be better pointing out the misrepresentation to the auction house in this instance , i do not think a reputable Auctioneer would intentionally mislead people.

long way short of a tr5 that one !!!!

CARS UK provide a good reliable service , and have moved cars all over for me , providing you do not want a specified timed door to door service , they will fit you in whilst in france and deliver when they have a couple going up to scotland and quite resonable as well.

You are correct in what you say , but looking at the pictures I would say that it’s probabl an earlier importation ,And was converted to RHD a while back and has been used for a while then stored !!!

The FND registration and V5 allocated to the TR250 i rebuilt listed the car as a TR250 not a tr5
