  3. Does anyone have a soft cover that they want to sell? Thanks Paul
  4. Indoor cover wanted. Good condition. regards Paul
  5. Every lequid boils, depending to the temperature and pressure in the system. A non-pressurized system is under atmospheric pressure, at the Swiss alps it is only 0.8 bar on top of The Gotthard Pass. This is why water will boil there at already 80 deg. Celsius. And this is why it is always the best to have a pressurized cooling system, even it is only 1 bar (atmospheric pressure on sea level). To avoid any disappointment it is very likely every producer of coolant will recommend not to use it in a not- pressurized system. Ciao, Marco

  7. Hi Rob thanks for the info, yes the postal prices are stupid now since BREXIT. Then there will be a custom charge at this end i have to pay or they take the package away. I no longer get stuff sent from the UK i wait until i am over visiting family and pick it up to bring back its like being in third world country now, but hey ho my choice. Once i have it all fitted and working i will post on here, thanks.
  8. I suppose it wouldn't do any harm to drop Autosparks an email (with photo attached) with the same query. Richard.

  10. If you use it in one of Peter Burgess's engines you loose the warranty. He hates it and he is a top engine builder??? Bruce
  11. I don't think the term "float" is in this case not related to the halfshaft, it is related to the diff housing. It is very easy to remove the diff from the axle. I guess that they mean with floating, that you can slip out the diff-arrangement as a whole.
  12. I can't be certain Iain as I have no information on Autosparks intention but I think the thin wire supplied there was meant for use with an alternator which needs a battery sense connection as some early models did. Normally the The A127 doesn't - that circled tag is connected directly to the large screw terminal next to it which is an alternative connection for the main output ( B+ ) instead of using the two big spades. The tag is usually either not used or has a suppression capacitor on it. Certainly there is no real point in having a connection from there to the battery as it is just in
  13. Hi RobH, are you sure "the thin brown wire to the circled terminal is a voltage sensing wire for the regulator."? I believe the circled terminal is a B+ terminal. The smaller terminal of the triple row is D+ and this is connected to the regulator? Cheers, Iain.
  14. Thanks Tom, that’s great advice. I know, right time, right place to find these!
  15. Fuses are very good at blowing when there's a short-circuit, but don't blow quickly enough to protect against overloads. Pete
  16. The stem works either way round and the mirror can be fitted to either side of the stem as well. The black escutcheon isn't quite symmetrical however so may leave a witness mark if turned the other way. That was a !@#$% of a find on those mirrors!

  18. To avoid the problem of most or all lights being extinguished in the event of a short-circuit, the Works' TR4s have a fuse for each of the filaments in the headlamps (i.e. 4 fuses) and separate fuse for each of left, right and centre spotlamps and for reversing lamp (single filaments, of course). Centre was fitted on top of the bonnet for some rallies, and Mike North has copied this on his TR4 (LNK). Ian Cornish
  19. Hi, "forget" my post above, please and sorry for any confusion: all is the other way round, the anticlockwise spinning finger moves clockwise to early. This is from my check with my Powerspark unit from 2020, installed with the knurled nut in the middle position. 1st adjusted with the timing light, then checked with the marks on my crankshaft pully. Next photo 4° BTDC (correct on the 4 cylinders) Next photo 24° BTDC, the finger moves clockwise (earlier) With my new Ignitor the position is a miimum more clockwise Ciao, Marco
  20. Hi rob been looking here in france but cannot find the 6A one don't suppose you have a link?
  21. Steve, A couple of questions: 1) Does the seat belt warning light work? This is fed from the same point as the feed to the ignition ballast feed. 2) The +ve feed to the oil pressure switch also feeds the other warning lights on the instrument cluster, so do they work? You may have more than one fault which is confusing to say the least - I had similar issues on my TR7 V8 fitted with the Pirana electronic ignition and the original Rover V8 ballast resistor box, so may be able to assist. Cheers Howard
  22. +1 for Hardy engineering. They have worked on Healey, Jags MG TRiumph They have done my OD and GB and all is well. Roger
  23. Now if they were 165 tyres -----, but I see they are 155 Bob
  24. A really good set of 5 steel wheels & tyres for a sidescreen TR. These were all checked for trueness on a wheel machine, then shot blasted before painting. Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres fitted and balanced. Been on car for very little mileage, the paint on the wheel rims is pristine. Change of plans for the vehicle means these are now available. Location Colchester. PM me if you want a mobile number to talk, Bob.
