  2. I had a problem with my 3A, I could not get reverse. It turned out to be badly worn items 42 cap & 52 retainer cup page 86 Rimmer catalogue. Used items sourced & all well.
  3. As already posted for the money at £29.99 these are a steal. Ideal for indoor storage and keeping dust off paintwork. Small fits TR3a https://shop.greenflag.com/collections/car-covers
  4. Today
  5. Would be my thoughts also. point is Richard that’s a simple enough check/repair with only needing to remove the transmission tunnel. Could you do that? And if not is there someone in your local group would lend a hand. John
  6. Richbrook covers are brilliant, and have rated highly in many reviews. They are super breathable, so no issue with moisture as noted above https://richbrook.co.uk/product/triumph-indoor-car-covers/
  7. +1 My thought. The gear stick has been ‘over lifted’ , to get it in reverse and the anti rattle plunger has popped out.
  8. 1/2” x 20 tpi unf Same as petrol tank outlet
  9. Missing "anti rattle" plunger & spring ? Bob
  10. Thanks for the replies. When I change gear there is a problem with the lever. As it is slid forward it feels as if there is some loose fitting on the end. It does select the gears and it drives well. The annoying 'rattle" is noticeable in all gears and third mostly. I am not using it much while I wait for some home repairs ??? The gearbox was overhauled by Peter Cox, and the overdrive by Overdrive Repair Services. Richard & B
  11. Check out the Green Flag web site they have some excellent stretch fabric indoor covers in a range of colours and they seem a very good price £29.99 !! The small size fits my TR3a perfectly.
  12. And he does lots of Rolling Road work with his state of the art equipment and he always stated he won't run engines with waterless coolant in it. Mick Richards
  13. Hi Richard, what exactly is your gearbox doing? I'd have a think through on this, before you go whipping your gearbox out and shipping it off for whats likely to be £2k ish worth of work. The only thing common to all the gears is the gearlever. When you say all gears does this include reverse, and is it the same with the engine off? John.
  14. Beware of micro blisters on the paintwork caused by moisture and close fitting covers. Mick Richards

  16. Have acquired a back up pump and threads need some work. Need to know the thread size for outlet port so I can re tap if anyone can help. Many thanks
  17. Does anyone have a soft cover that they want to sell? Thanks Paul
  18. Indoor cover wanted. Good condition. regards Paul
  19. Every lequid boils, depending to the temperature and pressure in the system. A non-pressurized system is under atmospheric pressure, at the Swiss alps it is only 0.8 bar on top of The Gotthard Pass. This is why water will boil there at already 80 deg. Celsius. And this is why it is always the best to have a pressurized cooling system, even it is only 1 bar (atmospheric pressure on sea level). To avoid any disappointment it is very likely every producer of coolant will recommend not to use it in a not- pressurized system. Ciao, Marco
  20. Hi Rob thanks for the info, yes the postal prices are stupid now since BREXIT. Then there will be a custom charge at this end i have to pay or they take the package away. I no longer get stuff sent from the UK i wait until i am over visiting family and pick it up to bring back its like being in third world country now, but hey ho my choice. Once i have it all fitted and working i will post on here, thanks.
  21. I suppose it wouldn't do any harm to drop Autosparks an email (with photo attached) with the same query. Richard.

  23. If you use it in one of Peter Burgess's engines you loose the warranty. He hates it and he is a top engine builder??? Bruce
  24. I don't think the term "float" is in this case not related to the halfshaft, it is related to the diff housing. It is very easy to remove the diff from the axle. I guess that they mean with floating, that you can slip out the diff-arrangement as a whole.
  25. I can't be certain Iain as I have no information on Autosparks intention but I think the thin wire supplied there was meant for use with an alternator which needs a battery sense connection as some early models did. Normally the The A127 doesn't - that circled tag is connected directly to the large screw terminal next to it which is an alternative connection for the main output ( B+ ) instead of using the two big spades. The tag is usually either not used or has a suppression capacitor on it. Certainly there is no real point in having a connection from there to the battery as it is just in
  26. Hi RobH, are you sure "the thin brown wire to the circled terminal is a voltage sensing wire for the regulator."? I believe the circled terminal is a B+ terminal. The smaller terminal of the triple row is D+ and this is connected to the regulator? Cheers, Iain.
