8th May 2022
TR Register Members booked in at Basingstoke Festival of Transport 2022
2021 was a very successful Festival. Now Basingstoke Deane Rotary are running the 2022 Festival on 8 May, its usual position in the annual calendar. The TR Register has booked 20 spaces, if you'd like to attend, please register below by the 17th April 2022.
Once again, they expect that the War Memorial Park, Basingstoke, RG21 4AG, will be filled with nearly 750 vehicles. They look forward to seeing both exhibitors and visitors come and enjoy themselves. It is a wonderful family day out. This event is free of charge both for exhibitors and visitors. Parking is available at the Old Common, London Road (use RG21 4BY and follow the parking signs) for £3.
As in previous years, there will be a huge range of vehicles on static display, including classic, vintage, commercial, fire engines and military trucks. There will also be a variety of specialist car clubs, trade stalls and catering outlets.
A January 2022 Update from Basingstoke Deane Rotary, please note the changes.
Basingstoke Deane Rotary thank you for the wonderful feedback from the 2021 Festival and are working towards improving as much as is under our control. Regrettably some things are not!
The Festival Committee have decided to make one major change this year regarding the Post War Cars, and this is set out in the Conditions of Entry. For the 2022 Festival we have decided that Post War Cars will be for those registered up to 1990 only. The majority of the public come to see, and reminisce about, the older vehicles and we have too many modern vehicles on the database that would then block spaces for the older ones. Whilst this will be a disappointment to many, to counteract this we are introducing a new category of Prestige Vehicles. These will be displayed separately from the Post War Cars.
For 2022 the car classes will be:
• Pre War Cars – vehicles first registered before 1940.
• Post War Cars – vehicles first registered from 1940 up to 1990.
• Prestige Cars – all vehicles subject to acceptance by the Committee
o Vehicles first registered from 1940 to 1990 where the owner considers the vehicle to be Prestige.
o Vehicles post 1990 where the owner considers the vehicle to be Prestige.
The Festival Committee will make the final decision as to which vehicles they would like to see in the Prestige category; a vehicle up to 1990 and not accepted as Prestige would remain in the Post War Car category, for those post 1990 and not accepted, we are afraid that we will not be able to take the vehicle.
In early December we sent invitations to all those individual vehicle exhibitors on our database at that time. The response has been wonderful and certain sections are already full, especially the Post War and the Post 1990 cars. For those not yet on our database please register through our Eventbrite site (see link below) to express your interest and an acknowledgement will be sent to you. As the Post War and Post 1990 are already above the limit, a waiting list for entries to these has been started and will be held in date order.
For Car Clubs and Stall Holders, please see below where you will find the relevant Entry Forms.
