TR Tours - Ireland Tour 2016

TR Tours - Ireland Tour 2016

TR Tours is organising, with its travel partner Travel Destination, a tour to Ireland in June 2016. The tour will be lead by Mick and Linda Forey. Road books will be provided as this is a self guided tour not a convoy: travel in your own time and at your own pace, stop when you wish. The 5 star Hotel Dunloe, Killarney will be our home for this great touring holiday.

County Kerry boasts some of Ireland's most dramatic scenery. The combinations of rugged coastlines, imposing mountains and picturesque villages make this area perfect for exploring in your TR. Some of the best driving routes in Ireland will be on your doorstep with the Wild Atlantic Way leading you around the Dingle Peninsula, the Beara Way and the famous Ring of Kerry.

Suggested Itinerary:

Monday 13th June
Depart Holyhead for Dublin at 08:55hrs. After arriving in Dublin at midday, we drive South West through Kildare and towards the city of Limerick. Having bypassed the city, we head via Adare to our hotel over-looking the Gap of Dunloe, just outside the town of Killarney. A welcome barbecue has been arranged in the hotel grounds for the evening. (Driving distance = Approximately 200 miles; 4 hours + stops)

Tuesday 14th June
A circular road run has been arranged taking you out to the Irish speaking Dingle Peninsula. With magnificent cliffs and extensive beaches the Dingle Peninsula provides some of the most beautiful scenery that Ireland has to offer. The northern coast of Dingle Peninsula is reached via the Connor pass out of Dingle town. This pass is the highest in Ireland and provides fantastic views on a clear day. (Driving distance = Approximately 125 miles; 4 hours, 30 minutes + stops)

Wednesday 15th June
Today's circular drive has been organised to take you South of Killarney to the Beara Peninsula. The route takes you through three mountain passes; The Healey Pass, Molls Gap and the Ballaghbeama Pass. In addition there are possible stops in the towns of Kenmare & Glengarriff. This should prove to be an exciting day. (Driving distance = Approximately 115 miles; 5 hours + stops)

Thursday 16th June
This could be a day to relax & enjoy the hotel's facilities. Others may wish to explore the town of Killarney or venture across the Gap of Dunloe on horse and cart. For those wishing to venture further in their car, then the famous Ring of Kerry awaits. This circular drive visits Glenbeigh & Valentia Island before returning to the hotel via the Ballaghisheen Pass. A group dinner has been arranged at the hotel in the evening. (Driving distance = Approximately 108 miles; 4 hours + stops)

Friday 17th June
After breakfast we leave Killarney and return back to Dublin in time to catch the 15:10hrs service back to Holyhead. The tour ends as we dock in Holyhead around 18:30hrs.
