1972 Triumph TR6 Coupe 2498cc, Chassis No CP76792, Engine No CP076888HE registered 09/08/1972.
Same owner since 1981, original bill of sale from 1981 plus MOT records until 2004 when it was last on the road. In 2000 the engine, gearbox and back axle were completely overhauled. The engine was stripped down and the rebuild consisted of re-bore and new pistons, the crank was machined to 10:10 and new shell bearings fitted, new oil and water pumps. The cylinder head was overhauled, the seats cut (not sure if it was the original valves or new ones). I believe the head was converted for unleaded fuel. New valve guides also springs. The rocker shaft was overhauled too. New injectors fitted. The injector pump was either renewed or overhauled to unleaded fuel. All fuel filters etc renewed. Throttle bodies were overhauled. The gearbox was stripped and overhauled. New clutch, pressure plate and thrush bearings also at the same time the back axle was removed, stripped and overhauled. New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. New brake cylinders, discs and pads. New battery just fitted in 2021.
The car is in very good condition, it does have a few rust spots on the body but underneath is very solid. The inside and bottom of both drivers and passenger doors are in beautiful condition as are the bonnet and boot. Inside the boot is in fantastic condition too.
As you can see from the pictures the engine compartment is in very good condition with a bit of corrosion where the brake fluid has spilt out of the cylinder. Wheels are in good condition but need restoring/painting. Chrome work (bumpers etc) will need re-chroming. New stainless steel exhaust system fitted.
Overall the car is a great car that only requires the minimum amount of restoration to make it a fantastic one!
No noises from the engine it runs very smoothly. As an engine builder myself I can see that this is a great engine. The hood and cover is all there and works perfectly.
Since all the restoration/engine rebuild it has only covered 10,000 miles and has been off the road in dry storage since 2004.
Comes with original workshop factory manual.
The previous owner did do some spraying on the car himself so obviously the car will need respraying.
