It is with great sadness that we share the news that Bill Price, former BMC / BL Competitions Manager passed away over the weekend.
Bill was a great friend to the TR Register and was very down to earth and willing to share his time and knowledge with fans of Triumph. He presented and was interviewed for many talks and events for the Club over the years.
Bill was an apprentice at BMC Morris Commercial Cars, National Service with REME, then assistant to the BMC Competitions Manager in 1960. Appointed BL Special tuning workshop supervisor in 1974, appointed Manager Leyland ST in 1976, and Competitions Manager until 1981.

Bill Price a real gentleman, and I remember he fixed a problem with the twin Solex Carburettors on my 1965 Mercedes Fintail back in 2005, I was competing on London to Lisbon that year, and Bill was looking after problems with two other helpers. He entertained everyone with many rally stories but remained modest about his achievements. Very sorry to hear about his sad passing.
