Only 4 places left on the Rallye Med 2010

TR Register - Rallye Med 2010

In September/October 2010, the Global Rally Organisation is pioneering a nine week 18,000 km tour round the Mediterranean and four spaces remain for cars in production pre-1970.

The organiser Rick Dyke-Price says: “Having been fortunate enough to participate in the Around the World and Inca Trail rallies of 2000/1, I felt strongly that the emphasis of a long distance rally should be having the time to appreciate the sites of historic and topographical interest along the way. It should not be about speed, testing gravel roads that beat up the car, time-sheets, marshals or competition. There is quite sufficient challenge involved in keeping your car mobile over such long distances.

Our next rally will drive through widely differing landscapes from Morocco to Albania and visit all the major sites along the shores of the Mediterranean from the Greco-Roman empire’s Cyrene and Leptis Magna in Libya, the pyramids of ancient Egypt, Jordan’s Petra built by the Nabateans to Syria’s Palmyra.

Since opening the “Entry List,” 21 of the 25 places have already been confirmed, 85% of whom have rallied with us previously. However, we have never had a TR participate and I am very keen to see a Triumph represented given the significance of the marque in British automotive history.”

For full information on the rally, please visit www.globalrally.org.uk or email rick@globalrally.org.uk.

Lisa Masters' TR3A to appear on the BBC

TR Register - Julie MastersBBC4 are airing a new series entitled 'Britain's Best Drives' in which the actor Richard Wilson will be driving a variety of Classic Cars through various parts of Britain. On March 12th, the subject will be the Lake District and that Lisa Masters' TR3A was used for some of the filming. Unfortunately it rained a fair bit so the hood was up almost continuously!

The series is due to be shown on BBC2 - probably during the summer - and we will post here if we receive further details.
