Plans for 2016

Wye Dean group – outline plans for 2016, as suggested at the meeting held at the 3 Horseshoes, 17^th February 2016. We discussed venues and frequency, and decided to aim for an event a month as a trial for this year. Lots of ideas were put forward, and the list below is a summary of the ideas proposed -

April 10^th - A trip to Newport Transporter bridge, to be combined with a visit to Tredegar House.

May 8^th - a visit to Penderyn Distillery, combined with a visit to Aberdulais Falls & iron works.

June 5^th – a drive through the Black & White villages of Herefordshire, stopping for a stroll at Pembridge, with a meal at the Salwey Arms to round off the day.

July 3rd – For our main drive of the year, John & Celia have worked out a route to Aberystwyth from Wyevale Garden Centre Hereford viaKington,Rhayader,& Devil's Bridge, returning via Tregaron, Lampeter, Llandovery, Brecon, Abergavenny.This round trip is approx. 180 miles.

July 16^th & 17^th - The IWE will be held in Lincoln this year.

July 23^rd & 24^th - Much Marcle Steam Rally.

August 7^th - Brecon Beacons Classic car show at the Mountain Centre, Libanus.Entry forms will be available nearer the date for those interested in showing their cars.

August 17^th - BBQ at the 3 Horseshoes

September 4^th – a trip on the Mon & Brec canal

October 9^th - Visit to Broomy Hill Waterworks museum in Hereford for their Open Day

October 30^th – a visit to RAF Cosford
