New year, new GL at Vale of the White Horse
GL Robert Longstaff says: "Back in November at the group's AGM, Chris Dean announced he was to stand down as group leader. We thank Chris and his team for all the hard work they have put in to keep the Vale of the White Horse Group afloat, especially as in recent times our numbers have dwindled.
At the AGM, I put my name forward to step into Chris' shoes and was duly elected as Group Leader, with Darren Cummings stepping into a deputy role. In these new roles, this has been our first opportunity to contribute to the Social Scene pages of TRaction, and so the first thing for us to do is wish all our members and the wider TR community a belated happy new year.
And so, with the new year comes a new team, and a new agenda. Our initial objective is to encourage existing members to come and join us at meetings and to this end Darren and I are planning to contact everyone in our area personally. Although we are a small group in terms of active members, we are friendly and welcoming, so come along to our meetings for an informal natter and refreshments. No matter where you live, no matter whether you currently own a TR or not, all club members are welcome along, as are family members. We want to find out what we can do to best help you enjoy your membership to the full. Come and meet us at the Horse & Jockey, Standford in the Vale, SN7 8NN from 7.30 every third Wednesday of the month. Our next meeting will be 17 February 2016.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be putting together a calendar of events in our area and organising a second monthly meet around our area. We look forward to meeting new friends and to a packed year of TR motoring ahead."
