October Run 2014
Sunday 12th October Run
Once assembled there were a total of 12 TR`s: two tr3s, one tr4 and the rest being tr6s.We met at the Horse Shoe Cafe at Abernyte for the opening at 10.00am. This was a superb turnout for our final event of the year. I think everyone enjoyed a bacon roll and a coffee before starting the run, organised by Jim Hendry. We were blessed by wonderful weather which allowed us to see the autumn foliage at its best. There is something special about following a convoy of TR`s with their characteristic roar from the exhaust and seeing the odd looks from the locals.
Our route took us through Balbeggie towards Meigle then onto Kirriemuir and then a loop round Glen Clova. We then made our way through Edzell and Fettercairn to the view point at Cairn O Mount for a photo opportunity. We then drove down to Clatterin Brig Restaurant for our lunch, was excellent with a great choice and good service. After lunch the group split into two, one driving to the east coast before heading home and the other drivers making their own way home. Finally thanks to Jim for organising another great run and arranging the fantastic weather for the days' outing.
