TR Lincs November 2017 Report
Here I am writing this newsletter sat in our caravan up in York desperately trying not to acknowledge the on-set of winter. Those warm sunny runs out with our cars over last summer seem a distant memory now. No worries though, the prospect of a fantastic 2018 TR season looming keeps the enthusiasm up and you never know some of those winter jobs that have been put off for the last 2 years might even get done, or on the other hand!!!
Activities since last meeting …….
October 8th – Goulceby, Lincolnshire
Peter and Cheryl Heath kindly organised a run that saw us all gather at Tesco's car park down at Canwick Road. A great turnout of 9 cars then set off on a well crafted route heading out of Lincoln towards the north east eventually heading out into the Wolds over roads that I'm amazed Peter and Cheryl managed to find. We ended our run with an excellent lunch at another find, the Three Horseshoes at Goulceby – Google it!
November 5th – Thimbleby, Horncastle
Our bonfire run ably planned by Jane and Laurence Gray saw us meet up at their home in Maltby-le-Marsh where we were treated to coffee and cake to fortify us before we set of and to sing happy birthday to Celia and Mags who both celebrated their birthdays on that very day. Once again we were treated to a picturesque run through the Wolds over some interesting roads. We all ended up at the Durham Ox just outside the lovely village of Thimbleby for our now almost mandatory Sunday lunch.

We have already got some exciting events planned for 2018 and you can read all about those below. Of course we still need to ensure that we have a good variety of our own locally grown runs and that's where it's over to you. If you fancy organising a Sunday run, or even a summer mid-week evening one, then now's the time. If you have any questions on how to arrange one, it's not difficult, then please get in touch. 3rd February 2018 – Derby Dales Annual Dinner
Once again an invitation has been extended to TRLincs members to join with our Derby Dales friends at their annual dinner. Mags and I will be attending and if you would like to go along then full details can be found by clicking HERE.
24th February 2018 – TRLincs Annual Dinner
I'm pleased to announce that our Annual Dinner next year will be held at the fantastic Washingborough Hall, Washingborough near Lincoln. We have already got a great response from TRLincs members but there is still room for more. Don't miss out on our annual bash where you can enjoy fine dining in sumptuous surroundings, wonderful company and wonderful conversation. 6th – 8th April 2018 – TR Register Spring Ball
The TR Register Spring Ball is returning and will be held again at the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield. TRLincs members have enjoyed this event in the past and it always proves to be an enjoyable and interesting weekend and a great hotel. If you are thinking of going along then please let me know and we can make sure that we have a TRLincs table or maybe even two! Full details were in the last TR Action 301.
22nd April 2018 – Lincolnshire County Wheels Day
Once again our contribution to "Drive It Day" will be held at Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa. This is often the first formal trip out with the car for the new season. Once we get a little nearer more details will be made available. In the meantime, put the date in your diary and click HERE for more background to the event.
8th – 19th June 2018 – TR Lincs Tour to Spain
Our adventures overseas take us over to the north of Spain to the Canatabria region. A full itinerary has been prepared and we have 7 cars embarking on the adventure. 29th June – 1st July 2018 – TR International Weekend, Lincoln
Lincoln hosts the 2018 International Weekend for the second time. Those that went along in 2016 will recall what a fantastic event that was. It is the event you need to attend, especially as it's on our doorstep. If you would like to volunteer to help out on any of the days or in fact for the whole event then please let me know and I'll add you to the volunteers list.
13th – 17th September 2018 – TR Lincs WW1 Centenary Tour
2018 sees 100 years since the end of World War 1 and to mark this occasion we are taking a short tour over to Belgium centred on Ypres. Full details of this tour can be found by click HERE

I think you'll agree there are quite a variety of events coming up next year and if you want to join in then now is the time to make that commitment. Of course we will still have a full programme of our regular runs and events. Don't forget our monthly meetings at Wragby on the 3rd Monday of each month.
