Pangbourne College Classic Car Show a great success!

Pangbourne College Classic Car Show a great success!

Five Kennet Valley TR Group members attended the Pangbourne College, Paul & Joyce Woodham and Joe Douthewaite and Wendy Warren took their lovely TR4a's, Nigel Rossiter and I (Phil Horsley) took our (naturally great) TR250's and John Edmunds took his 'rare' SAAB Sonnet.

College pupils are currently restoring a 1970 Bond Equipe classic car, donated to the College by the Grandparent of a pupil. So far they have been supported in the restoration with a small budget from the College and a kind donation from Richard (Sam) Strachen (58-62), who is based in Australia.

(One of only nine produced Bristol, 8 litre, 220 mph car, WOW)

Leading on from this initiative, the College, supported by H. R. Owen of Pangbourne (Bentley, Aston Martin and Lamborghini) ran a Classic Car Show on the Parade ground. The idea was to have as wide a range of classic vehicles as possible on display.

(Note the cool spare wheel storage, very handy and surprising it didn't catch on?)

Head of Design Technology, Mr Tom Cheney, arranged for over 70 vehicles on display on the Parade ground, with additional classic cars lining the route up from Whites playing field.

A great event with some wonderful and rare vehicle, well worth adding to the calendar next year.
