Spring is in the air in Essex
Andy Dimbleby says: This year's AGM was a milestone in the Group's history as Mike B finally relinquished his secretarial duties after ten years. Mike and his wife Mary have done a fantastic job for us and as a gesture of appreciation they were presented with a pair of engraved crystal goblets and a voucher for a weekend away, courtesy of the generosity of our members. The 40 members who attended the meeting were able to see Mike – almost - speechless! Other committee changes appear in our bulletin and website.
Spring is in the air and we have already been enjoying plenty of TR action. Such is the level of activity we have already supported two separate Drive it Day events, a day at Brands Hatch to watch Essex member Phil Lambe compete in the Thoroughbred Sports Car Championship, a trip to a private War Museum in Suffolk and the Castle Coombe Track Day.
Upcoming events include a weekend away in Norfolk, a week in Germany, and a couple of local shows.
Last year we had a number of ad-hoc events established at a moment's notice when the sun came out. This is a part of our club life that we would like to encourage so, if you have a TR outing idea that does not conflict with a published event, why not let Kevin H our new Events Co-ordinator know so a quick e-mail and Facebook post can be organised. These events, often "TR Breakfast" meetings, have proved popular with busy folk: a brisk TRip, coffee, bacon roll and back home in time for lunch!
All upcoming events appear on our website and Facebook page, and if you would like to join us just turn up or call Kevin on 01376 323357.
Monthly meetings as usual on second Tuesdays at the Rabbits, Stapleford Abbotts and fourth Tuesdays at the White Hart, Margaretting Tye (Nr Ingatestone). See you there!
