Greetings Cumbria Group,

Newsletter 2/17

So In the thick of that wonderful time of late spring into early summer and TR'ing heaven!

To Reminisce for a moment, Stonleigh worked well, and was enjoyed by all, other than of course the McDonalds Breakfast, I use the term very loosely, I must have missed something! Perhaps we could do something similar for the NEC in November - food for thought? let me know your thoughts.

March's pub run to Shap Wells worked fine, and made all the more special by welcoming Philip and Susan Charlson, Stag owners who made the day, and promised to return, we'll look forward to seeing them again, together with their car.

April was our York overnighter, hotel, location The City of York and RAF Elvington on Sunday followed by a run back through the Dales - just lovely.

.........and so to the next few weeks;-

This Sunday (23rd) is the FBHCC, 'Drive-it-Day, Wigton Motor Club are to be congratulated on once again arranging a meet at Dalemain.

Same format as last year, turn up as and when, for free any time between 11 and 2

and enjoy a wonder and a natter with like minded folk, couldn't be simpler!

Sunday May 7th, Lunch with Neil and Judith at their cottage in Appleby,

Rendezvous, Stainton 10.00AM, for a decent run to arrive at Appleby for 1.00PM

Following Saturday, 13th is Appleby Rotary's annual Charity Run, sure contact via Neil Marland or indeed me will still get you involved.

Thursday May 25th - Sun 28th

Our adventure trip, based in Fort William,

Usual practice applies, YOU tell Peter Guy, you are coming and that you will need fed, otherwise you ain't getting a fillet steak!.

Meet at Costa Todhills, 9.00AM

Now looking at little farther;-

Peter and Nan have once again, arranged our mid-week meet on Wed June 14th,

at 'The Crown, at High Newton on the A590, so thanks to both of them.

This is really still a newish type of meeting for us, and all the more enjoyable for being such, we see some folk who can't 'Do' weekends coupled with, last year ,at least,

the most glorious twilight run home through the lakes, great sunset, great views and virtually, no traffic!

.....and because it is not possible to have, 'Too much of a good thing'

The following Wed, that's June 21st, we have an invite to join the Northumbrian Group at Melmerby, up Hartside for a bite and a chat, I'll think about a rendezvous and get back to you all.

....and in between these two we have our run across to Croft for the BTCC day.

Goodness me, busy, busy, busy!

........Now, nearly finally;-

I list blow the members who have expressed the desire to be, 'Kept informed' about our plans for classic le mans and probably Italy next year. This is the last time I will bring any info on this to our regular newsletter, so if you not listed here and want to

Stay 'In the Know' then please let me know, From now on, all info will be via a dedicated Mailing list.;-

Peter Saunders, Nigel Cluely, Ken and Chris Wilson, Murray Gibson, John Kenyon,

Peter and Daphne Guy, Luc, Peter Bonsall, Jim McVey, Mark Sindle, Rex Harrison,

as ever, you crowd of special folk, any questions - just ask.

John.

P.S. Make sure to plan to be around August 6th, when Ken and Chistines afternoon Tea, highlights out 25th anniversary!

Lot of water under the bridge since then, folk have come and gone, but a few of us who were around at the start are still 'At the wicket'
