Sorry we missed last month's column ,will try to catch up now ,July saw us going to a B B Q invited by Brian & Gillian Archer from the Northumbria group at Belsay hot sunshine on the way up with a massive traffic jam at Newcastle by pass and like all B B Q we had rain once the food was cooking ! Brian had a tent up so we were all dry and had a very nice day all round next we were supporting the Sporting Bears at the South Bank race track ,we have been doing this for 4 years now the Sporting Bears Pick 3-4 children's organisations to come to the to ride in all sorts of cars round the track it is all free for them but you get free breakfast and dinner and you just have to ask them how fast they would like to be driven ,they all say FAST ,it is well worth the day just to see their faces + you get the chance to try your car out on the track but there is no overtaking and you can drive as slow or fast as you want (or the kids want you too) so it is all very safe .August saw the classic nostalgia weekend at Croft race circuit which is one of the best weekends in the north if you have not been yet try for next year you will not be disappointed ,14th was Raby castle classic car show again a very good event and well attended by T R's , 21st saw us doing a Sunday run to the Yorkshire Lavender farm organised by John Keenan the weather was kind and a good turnout of cars with light traffic through the north Yorkshire moors ,started at 10-30 with bacon butties and coffee which always puts you in a good mood for a drive only problem was our chairman put his hand in Jim Johnstones TR to pet a miniature Yorkshire terrier which was on guard duty and it bit him !! forget about immobilisers get a Yorkie .Next month we have one more run out and on the 10th &11t Saltburn historic hill climb is on.
