Chiltern Group report for TRA 286
The year continues to rush by at an alarming rate and it's hard to believe that this is the last edition of TRA that you will read this year ! We've been very busy and had a lot of fun. The TRs have been well used for events, holidays and tours, including
Now we're back to GMT and BST is behind us, the next few mid month meetings will involve a run and a spot of lunch on a Sunday rather than a (dark and usually wet) Wednesday evening. Details of timings, meeting places and routes will be emailed and will be on our website in good time. Everyone will be most welcome to join us. (If you like to join the email list, please let me know).
Back in September we enjoyed the Kop Hill Climb, which is by far the most significant local event on our calendar. This year was even bigger and better. Run by a legion of very able volunteers and marshals, the show raises huge amounts of money for local charities and worthy causes. We put on a great display and were, as ever, the largest one-make car club. The range of TRs attracted a lot of interest from the public so we were kept busy all weekend giving information and advice. We even signed up a few new members too. A full report appears elsewhere in these pages.
An important date for your diary is Saturday 5th December which will be the Chiltern Group Christmas Dinner Dance at Kings Hotel in Stokenchurch. Details of cost and options can be found on our website at www.chiltern-trs.co.uk/Events.htm . Contact our Ian Smith with your choices. Also, consider the very comfortable accommodation available and avoid the need to drive home afterwards. Again, details are on our website. Be sure to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment !
If you haven't been to a Chiltern Group meeting or event yet, please do find the time to come along and see us. In fact, make it your New Year's resolution. You are guaranteed a warm welcome from like-minded enthusiasts, who would appreciate your company. If you have a TR, we'd love to see it and if you don't, no matter, come along anyway. You will find our contact details and directions to The Peacock at Henton also on our website. I hope that we see you all somewhere soon.
