Hi Fellow Followers. Well not a lot happened since last writing. Our move from The Three Horse Shoes to The White Hart at Warboys for one of our pub meets seems to be popular.
We held our AGM and Christmas Dinner at the Bell in Stilton on 2nd December. Thirty four people attended and enjoyed a good meal and very pleasant evening which included our usual raffle.
The AGM concluded with the existing committee being voted to carry on for another year. This consists of Trevor Sherwood and myself as joint Group Leaders and Alan Burwood treasurer. We are joined by the following for the events committee – George Whyment, Babara Wallis, Tracy and Phil Core and Vince Sterland who meet in early February to plan our years events.
With winter now well on its way we are all tinkering with our cars and getting those jobs done ready for summer. Chatting at our last pub meet I think possibly Nick Waller has the greatest challenge with his Stag. The overdrive failed needing major surgery and with the engine burning excessive oil he decided to deal with this problem too, which has turned into a much greater repair than he expected. Oh the joys of owning a classic car. George Whyment has installed an oil separator to his TR6, replaced steering trunions and propshaft. John Burningham is planning for some paintwork repairs on his TR5 and finally Graham Wallis is upgrading the cooling system on his Stag.
