Hi Fellow followers .Since last writing we have had 3 evening events namely a Fish and Chip supper at Market Deeping on 19th June followed by a few beers at The Goat at Frognall, and a most interesting visit to Radical Racing in Peterborough on 5th July. This really is a most professional concern producing some very special sports cars. Our thanks go to Mr Will Brown (Championship Manager) for a very interesting and informative tour. We also had an evening visit to our neighbouring group Lea Valley. As I was unable to attend Trevor Sherwood kindly reports as follows.
" It was a dark and stormy night and was supposed to stop raining by 6pm, the start time for Lea Valley Groups "Show and Shine "evening at The Cock at Broom but alas the rain continued. The event was very well organised and as such was well attended despite the weather. Our illustrious Area Director Dave Burgess had been good enough to come down from the Derbyshire Dales to judge the event, and should have won the furthest travelled but was magnanimous in declining to be entered as he was the judge, hence yours truly received this award. The pub landlord had laid on a free barbecue for all TR Register members, a gesture much appreciated in view of the weather. The Raffle had some good prizes. Nick was pleased to win a trolley jack. I actually earned my distance award on the way home due to an A1 closure at Buckden which forced me to use a circuitous route. I believe thanks are due to Phil Gunn at Lea Valley who organised a great night out despite the weather."
Finally, Ladies Day which this year was kindly organised by Barbara and Graham Wallis, was a great day with a very pleasant run culminating with Lunch at The Queens Head, Littlebury. Thanks to you both and thanks to all of our ladies for letting us play with our "toys" throughout the year.
