Keith66
Hi All Just watched one of those car resto programmes from the US, Fantom Works. Kind of a bit like Fast and Loud but not so fast or Loud. But they did feature a nice pretty original TR6, 1974, in Minosa as far as I could tell. The main man persuaded the TR owner not to go the full nut and bolt rebuild and new colour repaint route but just do the mechanicals and sympathetically restore the paint by cutting and polishing and touching up any chips etc. Huge assumption it was from a V dry state as no body or chassis rust. But even I’m pretty sure a Tan roof and seats, with mid brown door cards and arch liners with the rest of the trim in black was never even an option with Minosa? Also really didn’t like the black glove box cover, really didn’t work for me. Anyone else see it? Cheers Keith

Mimosa interior option shades were: Black in '73; Black and Chestnut in '73-'76, and Beige was added in '76. Cheers Walt Edited March 16, 2018 by Sapphire72
Mike C
This show was aired in the US about 5 years ago and in Australia about 3 years ago. I was very interested in the cost of a professional restoration at the time and so were a lot of US TR6 owners: https://www.triumphexp.com/phorum/read.php?2,902340 Dan Short later said the final cost was $US28k - but you'd never know- reality TV is far from real. Keith66
Hi Walt I didn't mean those individual shades were not available, just that combination of tan and Chestnut and the odd carpet colour all at the same time.lol. Also didn't twig it was so old but TBH the $5000 ish price seemed way too low to me so yep take it all with a pich of salt. Same as the wheeler dealers programme on the TR6 which Brewer and China "worked" on. It was repeated a few weeks ago so fo course i watched it and recall Ed explaining how he had to remove the triple twin choke carbs. Trouble it was a UK Pi car and it was only a few frames after this explanation that the badging on the rear was shown, Triumph Injection So yep the detail does go astray. But they are entertaining and can help keep the enthusiasm for an ongoing restoration alive at this cold cold part of the year. Cheers Keith
