Sold to a Man from Ireland

Recommended Posts

BTW -I believe that the $210K high water mark Mark II Tiger has been up for sale recently with a much lower asking price (I want to say 180K and it sat). Tiger market has softened (although many owners/sellers don't see it that way) as many came out of the woodworks when prices jumped. Mark II's get all the interest because there are so few and collectors always go for the rarest of the rare. At the end of the day, the cars are not the next Cobra (Carrol Shelby connection aside) and their driving characteristics are fun at first, but I believe wear thin on most after a short while.

Interesting comments, whilst I've been looking for a Tiger the values seem to have stalled, although it's very hard to suss out for sure with so few being for sale.

A couple of cars I've been watching for sale at dealers have been reduced in price.

Lets hope some of the Private sellers will do the same and not expect too much.

Gary

Looks good Gary, they are a bit of a beast !

Knowing how long you looked for your TR5, how long will this car last ?????

All the best,

Conrad.

Fine touring car, the Rootes equivalent of an MGC or V8, with the extra grunt the BMC Big Six lacked . . . . .

But it's still just an Alpine with balls, chopped Hillman Minx if you prefer, a mass production sportster built down to a price, hardly something you'd wish to pay loadsamoney for.

Cheers

Your Mk 1 is a lovely car but, to my mind, overvaled due

to the rarity.

Particularly the V8 version, but they rusted even more

than a TR (hence the rarity), and I don't like to think of

the handling with a V8 engine.

Weight distribution is surprisingly good, about 52% Front, 48% rear

The Engine is crammed in though to say the least and set well back, with access to the Nearside rear Spark plug via an access hatch inside the front foot well!

The majority of Tigers, much like TR's were exported to the USA

There are some similarities with the Tr, the interior in particular is similar to the Tr range, with good quality trim and a Wood dash.

I have been given M.o.T's going back to 1985 and the car as now done 46,000 miles which I believe may be genuine, but you never know with old cars

looking forward to nice summer hopefully?

Morning Gary,

That was me behind you in Southwell yesterday, flashing you but to no avail.

Your Tiger looks good and sounded well.

Cheers,

Conrad.

I keep meaning too, Honest!

Still getting used to the Tiger, love the exhaust note and the Torquey Engine, it doesn't rev like the 5 though.

See you soon

Gary
