Robert Price
I am thinking of fitting a puller electric fan. due to the space required do I just remove the existing fan and its shaft? I seem to remember different bolts reqd. My spare wheel has a rim which has the pins for a Rostyle trim, does anyone have an early 6 and requires one? I want to replace it for a standard 6 rim. I could cut the pins off but seems a shame if anyone would like one. Rob
Tim D.
You need to find a replacement (shorter) crank bolt)..hope you don't mind a slight thread hijack (am planing on doing similar)... I have a pusher fan which is reversible.. thinking of changing it to a puller.. currently the fan is mounted via cable tie-like fittings through the radiator core.. would like to mount it directly to the radiator surround.. are there any risks to drilling the steel on either side of the radiator core (e.g. Am I likely to puncture the radiator ?) RogerH
Hi Tim, be very careful when drilling. The core and frame do have a space between. Put a drill stop on your drill bit to limit insertion. For that reason I went for welded brackets to the frame - 2 brackets either side (one at top and one at bottom). 'L' shaped with hole in the rear leg to attach fan to. Works well. if you drill what size holes will you use and what type of fastener.? Roger
ed_h
You will need a different arrangement to secure the damper. Ed
Tim D.
Ed, yes have a bolt that came with my supercharger kit.. Rodger... interesting.. I assumed the sides were copper.. are they steel? Think I might get the welder out! Cheers Tim
ed_h
Yup, the rad frame is steel. Ed
