Fuel Pump rear attachment nut

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

quite a few people of the years have asked for help/advice in removing the rear nut of the fuel pump.

Had to do it this morning.

1/4" drive socket ratchet

5" extension

UJ

1/2" AF socket

Works a treat.

Don;t know if it will work on the TR2/3/3A - not sure of the room available.

A lot less room on a sidescreen car, even less on a left hand drive sidescreen car and even less on a left hand drive Italia!

I use a ¼-drive socket with a short wobble extension and a flex-head ratchet. No issues on my LHD sidescreen, but it is a tight fit fershure.

I've changed my pump a couple of times, & don't remember any particular problem, as Roger says a ¼" socket set with ½" AF socket (or 13mm :o )

does the job.
