TorontoTim
Looks like a very good result for David Stanley & Peter Blackett in a TR4, managing to obtain a Gold Medal in what looks like the MOST challenging conditions over the past few days. Well done guys! Surprised we haven't seen more on here on this rally.
john.r.davies
Met them at the autotest at my college, Myerscough, where they didn't get the FTD, but a most committed drive - I was finish line marshal. The test and venue was, strangely, not mentioned in the "Spectator Information". Pity as it was well run, by the college Motor Sport Department, with plenty of space for sepeccies who could have watched the whole thing with ease. John
Alec Pringle
Tony Sheach didn't have a good event, the report notes that on Day 1 " It was an early bath for Tony Sheach/Rachel Wakefield as their fire breathing Triumph 2000 proved too powerful for its’ clutch and cried no more after just 25 miles." That sounds like a very expensive miscalculation and/or a very disappointing clutch . . . . . TorontoTim
Indeed, Alec. Felt sorry for them when I read that - what a long way to go for that! My old friend Alan Pettit was in a Vitesse which doesn't look to have made the finish either. Still, the photos and wrote up make it look a tough run - but beautiful when you have a chance to look at the scenery. An event I'd love to have a go at one day... RogerH
Windsor Forest Group member Dave Hankin survived the ordeal well and came third in class with 101 points. He will be a happy chappy with that. Roger

I was disappointed that the Vitesse didn't make it, even as far as Myerscough. Just shows you, LeJog is not a stroll! JOhn
Quicksilver
Footage from leg 3 of this year's event from Wales, through Lancashire and over into Yorkshire with some treacherous, icy conditions over the Lancashire fells.
