Fluids changes, before or after winter season ?

Recommended Posts

Hello TR enthusiasts,

For the regular fluids full changes or partials bleedings (Brake & clutch) and full changes (Oil…) on an every 1 or 2 years basis, what is your advise on the best period to do it (just before or just after the winter season)

I see pros &cons for the hydraulics and oils fluids, but definitively not a question for the cooling & heating fluid to be done before the cold period (Antifreeze protection).

FYI:

- with a yearly average of 3/4000 Km/year per cars, during the main & nice part of the year I use my classics on a very regular basis whatever the conditions, but during the cold and humid season, only when no salt on the road and if possible on dry days.

- 1st car (Stag) parked on the basement of a building apartments in Paris area (= Dry and never under 10°C)

- 2nd car (TR6 PI) parkeed in a garage (Note a sealed garage, not insulated, very slightly vented to avoid condensation/humidity) on a garden in Normandie (= Cold and humid weather during winter as on the other side of the channel, but not a "humid” garage)

Best regards
