Z320 Posted October 15, 2017 Report Share Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Hi there, is 1/2" UNF correct for the drain plug / tap on my TR4A´s engine (cooling water) and not 1/4" BSP? RogerH Posted October 18, 2017 Report Share Posted October 18, 2017 Hi Marco, I've just checked my drain tap. The thread in the block is 1/4BSP @19 tpi O'D 0.518" core 0.451 1/2" UNF @20 tpi. Z320 Posted October 19, 2017 Author Report Share Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) hmmm, I tried to put several bolts, nuts, nipples and muffles together and in my engine block: no chance for 1/4" BSP, 1/2"UNF fitts, the old plug, caliper and thread gauge also says UNF. Now I decided to check them, the tap is to get the water level lower for some "switch-over". A pipe from there to the thermostat housing... , only a pipe? Nigel C Posted October 27, 2017 Report Share Posted October 27, 2017 Sorry I dont know what the thread is in the tape I only know the tape is tapered and the thread is course on mine There was a guy in the states who was doing further modifications on a TR engined Morgan and connecting the tape to the pump housing.
