john.r.davies
Michael, Perhaps you are asking because the DVLA will no longer tell you about it's past owners. In another thread on that subject http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/63751-dvlanot-good-news-for-past-history/I suggested using the Freedom of Information Act to require them to tell you. You are the ideal person to try it! JOhn

Petrol-Head
Hello John. No I'm not asking because the DVLA won't tell me. They would only have the MOT history. I am trying to reach out to the TR community to see if a member knows of my car. If this is not what register is for then I don't know what it is for. The car has had 14 owners and had some work done recently according ro the mechanic working on it. someone must know of the car. Regards

nowtelse2do
The DVLA will have most if not all your car's history on microfiche. Dave

Regards They have more, Michael, like the list of previous owners, their names and addresses - at the time of ownership at least. Some previous owners (Pace, Alec!) are glad to pass on history, even old photos, to present owners who wish to compile their cars story. On one of my previous cars I asked the DVLA, and received a photocopy of the old V5 document, that used to have that list on a back page. John John

astontr6
The DVLA will have most if not all your car's history on microfiche. Dave + 1. What has happen to the DVLA V888 form? I used it last year for this purpose and got 30 copies from the DVLA on my BSA and have been able to contact some of the past owners! Great value for £5! cost. Bruce. Andy Moltu
The DVLA may well decline to give the details of previous owners on a FOI request as this is personal/confidential info. The log book should state the name of the previous owner. They may release owners info if you can prove a legitimate need to know such as accident claim etc.
