16W wiper motors

Recommended Posts

Readers of TR-Action may know that I rebuild wiper-motors.

I intended to stay on the earlier square types. But I bought a "job-lot", I like to do this, and got some 16W motors and gears.

So I'd like to ask forum members for a bit of help with these, because I think they were used on wedge Triumphs.

That's the first bit of help, am I right about that?

If so can anybody tell me what sweep angle is required?

Building up this kind of knowledge will help me to put these to good use.

Helps a lot. So these use the wire-rack with the tiny tab that breaks off easily.

If this is an original TR7/8 motor can you tell me the pat-number on the plate.

This is really useful information, thanks for replying.

Thanks again for your efforts.

These motors are a good bit more waterproof than the square ones. I'd expect them to be reliable except for brush wear.

I quire easily replaced the brushes on mine all of which were well worn. Ask me if you have a problem with this.
