tobes01
I've been lurking for a little while, so time to introduce myself. Earlier this year I went on the hunt for a TR4 as the logical middle-age successor to my first car at age 17, which was a Vitesse. However, parked up next to a TR4 I went to view was Aphrodite, and it was love at first sight... She gets first dibs on the garage, so my 1954 Land Rover Series 1, and the wife's 1950 Ferguson tractor are consigned to the barn. Looking forward to learning lots more here. Cheers, Toby
ianc
A very nice TR3, Toby, and. from the extra lamps, it looks as if it has been prepared for some rallying. In what part of the UK are you based ? Your Local Group would be delighted to see you plus the TR at their Local meetings. I know that the convention is that cars are female, but always I have thought of my TR as being either male or neuter. Nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy Aphrodite (in the politest way, of course!). tobes01
Thanks Ian. Funny you should say that, I've always wondered if maybe she might be called Ken or something. Ho hum, time will tell, wouldn't be the first time I've made that mistake ;-) The previous owner had set her up for rallying, the passenger has the full navigator's odometer and light. Not something I suspect I'll be in to, but nice to have. Cheers Toby PS - Aphrodite because the initial registration was Cyprus in '56 as an export-registered UK-spec vehicle, returned to the UK two years later, so highly likely an RAF or Army officer's car
TR5tar
Welcome to the forum Toby. You'll find a lot of helpful people and information here and within your local group. Get stuck in! I hope you have many years of happy motoring with Aphrodite. Cheers, Darren
TR 2100
Toby - Welcome. The TR4 is now my favourite, but I've always fancied the looks of the (small grille) TR3. Looks like you did well. AlanR
MilesA
Toby Well done. A very attractive example to my eye. Plenty of support here when you need it. Miles

Dave Larnder
Hi Toby greetings from Spain Very nice car and colour. I like the matching spoke colour as well, which is something new to me as I am a fan of Stainless steel spokes and chrome rim and hub. Dave
Guest
Welcome! I would, like you, have chosen this on over the 4. The colour matching w/wheels look the business. And... we don't mind seeing more pics! Menno
Fireman049
Hi Toby ~ Welcome. As one who has worked on TR's since 1955 I have to say that the 'small mouth' TR3 is THE BEST TR ever! In 1958 when we saw the new TR3A two things I took an instant dislike to was the bloody awful wide grille and the redundant Austin A35 doorhandles!! Yes, I know that I have a TR3A but I doubt if it will ever be seen in public!! Look after her. Tom. Edited September 15, 2017 by Fireman049
irrational
Wow. Love at first sight indeed. A beautiful car making me ashamed that I have not immediately jumped to restore my TR2. More photos please!
