draught excluder channel for surrey lid

Recommended Posts

Does any one know where I can get this metal channel for my surrey top.Moss only sell it in small length sections (part no 750163) and I want it in say 30"

x 2. I could buy four lengths and join it but would rather not. The cantrail channel holds the rubber seal (part no 650312) which when the side window glass

is fully up it seals the top of the glass or should do!.

I have tried the internet with no success.

Can you help?.

Regards Harry TR5 Nutter.

Hi Harry,

Having done (5) of these lids over the years I always got what I needed from TRF. The channel is the same as TR4s use around the doors as the seal is the same stuff as the lids use. The steel lids' channel was intact on the (2) I've got, spot welded in situ. The alloy lids are pop-riveted into place as are the vertical channels on the backlight frame.

Cheers.

Tom

Talk to David Manners Jaguar as the channel is used for Series one XJ6 door rubbers so long lengths are available. Its what I used to replace the door channels on TR4/4a`s

Stuart.

Just been to Moss and picked up the very part it is 600mm in length (not 500mm as described on the phone) so I am now happy. The length is correct for the surrey lid.

Hope this will help future restorers.

Regards Harry.

Hi Harry,

What part number did you buy the item under?

Those who come later can then order it directly.
